My friends told me that colon cancer is one of the easiest to treat. I keep asking my mom, do you think we'll make it through this? She says she doesn't know, that she can't guarantee me anything, and that we'll just take it as it comes.
I basically came here to get second opinions because I'm so scared I'm going to lose her. Please give me some sort of an idea..?View Thread

after all this time with asking mom why dad looks so bad (all this time she said he just wasn't hungry and is tried and its his sugar)
after yelling and doing alot of crying- my mom told us 7 months ago the doctor (only told mom) dad has 5 spots on his liver, several spots on his lungs and colon cancer- stage 4. my mom has decided not to tell him. (or use kids) im soooo upset, why would she do that? what if 7 months ago he could have had treatment? Isn't it wrong for a Doctor to tell the wife and not my father? Now im going home tomorrow and she said if i start crying or acting different i shouldnt come. OH MY GOD. she said if me or my sister tell him, she will disown us, and leave without telling anyone where she is going. someone tell me what and how i should feel?View Thread
I was diagnosed Rectal cancer stage 3 in February 2010, I went through radiotherapy/Chemotherapy and recently a surgery. Now I am starting 5 months of Chemotherapy (FOLFOX) Oxaliplatin, 5FU, plus a number of antisickness medications, I don't know what drug is causing this but I have a severe case of hiccup (non stopping) day and night, can't sleep well, and I am only in my first week of chemotherapy. Could you let me know if you know if you have experienced hiccup due to chemotherapy and what you did to cure it,
Thanks to you all.View Thread
Can anyone answer this issue, I would very greatly appreciate it.View Thread
I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in Jan 2000, had chemo, radiation, 2 surgeries, and have been cancer free for 11 years. About 2 years ago, I developed an anal fissure. It is EXTREMELY painful after bowel movement, and is a DAILY problem for me. I have tried sitz baths, and creams and lidocaine ointments per doc, but to no avail.
Does anyone have this same issue, and what do you do to ease the pain? This is ruling my life.
My surgeon says the radiation to the area around the rectum has caused the fissure.View Thread
I hope this thread will elicit advice from CR cancer survivors...words of actual experience battling stage 4...specific ideas and practices that worked for them...
Everyone is welcomed to respond but "survivors" are especially encouraged, please.
Thank you (for my best friend and anyone else who can benefit from your valuable experience)!
First question:
- How do cancer patients best cope with nausea while undergoing chemotherapy?
Particular food or drink? Specific anti-nausea med(s)? Relaxation method or acupressure? An eating technique?...How did you manage the effects of nausea to allow you to eat (and recover for the next cycle of infusions)?View Thread
For whoever prays, I would appreciate your prayers for a uncomplicated surgery and recovery.

Upon contacting the employer she had retired from I learned that I could not get her retirement b/c she did not check the right box when she filled it out 2 years before by talking with someone via email and fax. So she worked for 36 years and I got nothing.
Just wanted to tell my story.View Thread
Would appreciate any help or suggestions.View Thread
