The thing I want to say is, have patience. It takes at least a year in some cases for the diarrhea to stop, and then it still can rear it's ugly head anytime and anyplace.
BUT we are cancer free and for that we are blessed.
White rice, bananas, tea, and toast without butter are what I live on...and immodium
)Don't get depressed if you can help it. I have spent many years fighting the depression becuase I am no longer "normal" due to the cancer.
Depression comes so easily, but try to put on music or read a fun book, or call a friend, or write in here and I will try to answer you.
Blessings on your day.View Thread

Can anyone answer this issue, I would very greatly appreciate it.View Thread

I did have 35 radiation treatments and chemo, and I am told by the doc that the radiation "burns" that area, as my rectal cancer was within digital reach.
I may be the exception, and I hope for your sake I am.View Thread

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in Jan 2000, had chemo, radiation, 2 surgeries, and have been cancer free for 11 years. About 2 years ago, I developed an anal fissure. It is EXTREMELY painful after bowel movement, and is a DAILY problem for me. I have tried sitz baths, and creams and lidocaine ointments per doc, but to no avail.
Does anyone have this same issue, and what do you do to ease the pain? This is ruling my life.
My surgeon says the radiation to the area around the rectum has caused the fissure.View Thread
