mandy how are you today and your cancer journey. I am an emotional wreck. My husband is 39 and had a small amount of blood in nov went to doctor pressed for colonoscopy and surgeon found a six inch mass by 3 inch and was staged at 3. since then he started 28 radiation treatments along with port pump chemo infusion with 5 FU. he did so well they gave him 8 weeks to recover and then surgury on march 15 to remove tumor with DiVincci robot hand and rectal surgeon felt confident he removed tumor and good area of margin around it. Pathology confirmed staging at 3 c.Received phone call and another surgury for more testing on march 23 and PET scan on March 25 with results same day and results stage 4 with mestasis to liver with 4 lesions. Want to give him him 4 weeks to recover from surgury and then try chemo says not able to operate on liver in both sides. Trying to become a patient at md anderson. please any help would be so grateful. We have three daughters and he is being so strong but oncology team seems they can only prolong life for so long. need help and answers...pleaseView Thread
my husband is 39 1/2 years old and has just been diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer and he has 4 lesions on his liver (metastisized). his cancer is aggressive the doctors say. the was no warning signs just some rectal bleeding, colonoscopy, illestomy on 3/15/11 and pet scan stating it has spread.He is to start chemo monday3/28 to try to shrink this cancer.we need him so much we have 3 daughters together and will do anything to save him.
