Wow, I know it's hard. I was first diagnosed in 1999. Bowel resection. Scar tissue blockage so Colostomy for 6 mos. Reattached everything. Mass found in right lung in 2003, removed and chemo. recently a lesion found in right temporal lobe, removed. radiation with chemo to follow. Nothing followed a normal path. Do your research to understand. You also have to remember that both you and your husband will have things to deal with and they will be different. Remember to talk AND listen to each other. Ask lots of questions with the doctors. They work for you and are part of your team, make them work. I may be an extreme case but hang in there and make sure you follow up.View Thread
A 13 year combatant of colon cancer has me dealing with a brain lesion, surgery, radiation and chemo up at bat. As noted do your own research and ask many questions. Remember that the doctors are part of your team and you may have to push them beyond their comfort levels. I'll admit that nothing about my journey has been normal. CEA never indicated anything so you have to push thru what is not normal so they will look.View Thread
