What's Happening Now
They must know where that leaves us. Why not at least go to the Ambassador's board? Why not send emails??
I have just about had it at this point as I do not like being ignored and taken for granted! I find it very insulting to say the least!!

It's great to see you!
I think the original intent of this community is needed less and less over time (to help community admins) but we're still here answering questions and maybe, with your post, we'll start seeing a revival and a re-purposing.

Many paid online moderators began by being helpful members on communities in which they're interested, became volunteer moderators (when that was more common than it is now) and eventually became paid. That's how I got started in 1997. Other long-time moderators began the same way. I wasn't looking for it; I just kind of fell into it and it became the perfect fit for me.
Nowadays, it's a bit harder and companies often look for first, a good online presence somewhere over time, experience, but also writing experience. Often marketing degrees can also help.

That's a great question! There are a few things you can do:
Be sure that it's in the right category so that when people look up that condition, they have a better chance of finding it. To do that, when you're signed in, click on the Manage This Community link on the left sidebar. On the next page, click on 'Community Keywords,....' link. Scroll down a bit to 'Your Community Categories' and be it's in a category/categories that fit. Save.
If the condition about which your community is about has other related conditions, you are welcome to go to those other WebMD communities and let the members there know about your own community. In your post, be sure to provide the exact web address (found in the address field at the top of your browser) of your community, add it as a link. As long as you don't spam those other communities but only mention it now and then, that's fine.

Finally, if you belong to Facebook, you can always post it on your facebook page, invite others to it by, again, providing the exact web address.
I hope this helps.

This is just a note to let you all know that we'll be taking the community site down starting at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 28, in order to roll out a new set of community features for you.
You can get more information on these features by clicking into these links:
* Email Digests
* Easier Paging

While theupdates are being done the community boards will be completely inaccessible to our members. We hope to have the boards back up and running by the early hours of Friday morning with all the new features ready to go!
If you need a support system during this time, be sure to plan that ahead with some of your friends in community.
We hope you'll enjoy the new features. We're striving to continue working to make your community more fun and easier to use. Feel free to send us your feedback -- CommunityManagement@WebMD.net .

But on a happier note, The NY Giants had a really good week!

Who are thou Anon 26?View Thread
I/we also try a bunch and then winnow them down pretty quickly. Frankly, no new show (except The Big C on cable) has really captured me.
Sounds like you had a really nice week and a half.
I enjoyed seeing my kids off to school too, they were so happy and eager (unlike when they hit their teens LOL!).View Thread

- What kinds of nagging injuries do you have? None, really. All my injuries are fairly new! LOL I believe I'm beginning to get some arthritis.
- What long-procrastinated task is nagging at you lately? I really need to go through some boxes I have stacked up in the corner of my living room and put things in away. I have a serious procrastination problem.
- In what way have you been a nag to someone else? I do believe I nag my children more than I should.
- Who in your life is a world-class nag? I'm afraid that would probably be me. My Dad 'nags' me, sort of, but that's because he worries about me all the time.
- Nag is such an ugly word. What would be a nicer way to describe someone who exhibits nagging tendencies? Well, you know, nag is not so ugly. To me, a "nag" is an old horse. I love horses and an old one has probably been loved very much throughout it's life. But that's beside the point. Another word for a nagging human being might be, well, I can't really print it here but it starts with a "B".
LOUISE!!! So glad to "see" you again.View Thread
- What are the coolest and ugliest tattoos you've ever seen?
I am not fond of tatoos either. I don't see any reason for them. Why inflict that kind of pain on yourself? My least favorite would be anything with skulls or blood.
- Have you ever had a meal in which squid ink was an ingredient? How was it?
I don't believe I have had that experience.
- Are you one of those people who has a favorite pen, or one of those people who just uses whatever's at hand? What're your favorite pens like?
Favorite types, yes. Like Jim, it has to have very smoot ink and ball. My writing looks better with a medium tip, but some fine tip pens work for me. Pilot's precise V5 is probably my favorite, but it bleeds when it the paper gets wet. I like the feel of most of Pilot's pens. I can't stand Papermate ink. It smears and I am not a lefty.
- There's a box of colored markers on the table, and someone tells everyone assembled to grab one. If you have first pick, what do you take?
That would depend on the project. Either black or purple.
- Have you ever written on a wall in a public place? Nope, I don't believe I have.
To all of you.... what assets you are to the communities here at WebMD!View Thread
Due to rising costs, more than a quarter of people enrolled in the Medicare Prescription drug program hit the coverage gap known as the "donut hole" each year, and as a result often stop taking the medicines their doctors recommend.
If you or someone you know who has fallen into the donut hole, help is on the way .

I'm sorry, LiliT, somehow I missed your question until now.
Rubystar is right; a public community cannot be made private, nor the other way around.View Thread
Thank you for the reminder to be thankful for the "small" things for none of them really are small.
