Sorry I should have gotten back sooner. She was in ICU for 3 days on a ventilator, the swelling finally went down enough they could remove the tube and take her off. She spent another day in the hospital and then came home. She was a little week for a few days, but has now went back to work and is doing fine.View Thread
Woke up early Monday morning to use the bathroom. My wife got up and asked me what was wrong with her. I looked at her face and it was horribly swollen. I wasn't sure what was going on with her. She is really sensitive to poison ivy so I thought maybe that was the problem. But she didn't think so. She asked me to take her to the ER, so I did. By the time we got there her throat had swollen shut. She couldn't swollow or speak. Once at the ER they took about 10 seconds and called a code, and a surgical team was there in a minute or two and rushed her to the OR to put in a breathing tube. They were affraid they might have to do a Tracheotomy if her throat swelled anymore.
A doctor took me to the ICU waiting area and I waited there for someone to come out. They had to put her on a ventilator.
Turns out she developed an allergy to Sulpha. She was on a med for a week for a UTI. She didn't have any problems until Sunday. I guess she had started to get a rash, but didn't think anything about it. Next thing you know she is in the ICU, breathing through a tube.
She has been in there for 2 days now. She is stabilized, and just waiting for the dr to let her off the vent. He is being cautious, wants to make sure there isn't going to be anymore swelling.
They said it was lucky when we got there. A few more minutes and it could have been a different story.
We were talking about things on the way home from a friends fathers wake, and discussed a lot of things that suddenly became more important in the span of a few minutes.View Thread
Have you done anything super romantic on Valentine's day Or know of something someone else has done that you thought was romantic?
I thought getting married on Valentine's day would be romantic. My soon to be wife didn't want a big ceremony so we sort of eloped and then had a reception a while later.
We went to her best friends "house" in Elk Horn City, Kentucky to start with. And then we had a nice little ceremony at her church. A snow storm hit and we were driving my 1986 toyota pickup that was only 2 wheel drive. It was like riding on a sled in the mountains. We were supposed to go on to Lexington and spend a couple nights there. But we couldn't get out of Elk Horn City. Her friend wanted us to stay at her "house", But I refused to spend my wedding night in a house trailer with her friends family. The only hotel in Elkhorn City was a best western i believe.
And that is were we spent the night. It wasn't very romantic, but better than the other option. We made it to Lexington the next day and spent a day there and then headed back home.
We were young and broke. But I think we both enjoyed it.
Maybe we should have taken a better honeymoon.View Thread
Ok well I should have been a little more specific and thought about that part of my response a little more. In my opinion and from previous experience a large percentage of indviduals that constantly place themselves in situations certain activities take place eventually take place in that activity.View Thread
Not really doing "everything" for your family when you go out partying every weekend. Maybe you could cut it back to one weekend a month?
And odds are that you will eventually cheat on him if you are going out drinking and dancing every weekend. That is generally the reason for going to clubs is to meet and party with other people. Do it enough and it will happen.View Thread
I will be attending training at work on Valentines day. Funny but 2/14 is the day I started at the prison 18 years ago. Easy to remember my anniversary date for work.
My first wife and I were married on Valentines day, so it was special for us. By current wife didn't like the idea of celebrating my first wedding anniversary date, so she has always said just to ignore Valentines day. But I always get her a little something.
Maybe I will try to make this weekend a little special. Don't know how yet, but I will figure something out. Maybe work overtime and let her spend the money.
We are going to the Boat show tonight, we have decided that the horses were for my daughter more than anything, and that we really don't have anything we do together than isn't related to the horses. So we are going to take some money we have saved and buy a boat. She loves the sun, and I love tubing, and skiing. This summer should be a blast.View Thread
