Hey Don't give up! I was in the same boat. Not as bad, but years of having Crohns and not knowing! I had a resection in Feb and am doing great now. I'm on Methotrxca (sp) and I work with special needs children and waitress. I'm doing fine, just keep washing hands. I needed the job out let, more so when I was real sick it gave me a reason to get up in the morning! Hang in there better times will come now that you know what's going on!View Thread
Hi I had 14inches of my small intestine removed in Feb. I have been in remission starting in June. I just started working out again, first ab stuff in over a year. I'm worried about this causeing things to go out of wack. Does anyone work out regularly and have any advice?View Thread
Wondering how much of the cholestyramine you were taking? I started out at 1 teaspoon a day, and am now takeing 31/2 teaspoons a day. Plus, 5mg predisone. My Dr. told me to keep playing with the dose of cholestyamine. Otherwise I'm not sure what would help. I think you may need to call the Dr for some advice.View Thread
Every drug is different for everyone. I acctully liked prednisone. It helped me better than anything else. Most I was on was 40mg a day. The hardest part for me was going off of it. That's when I'd have weight gain and body aches. But if I went down slow enough I could get through it. I think the pain of the Crohns was worse than the side effects of the prednisone. If I could have stayed on it longer I would have.
But like I said eveyone is different and I'm sure you'll hear good and bad. It's up to you. It's not a life long thing so it's between you and your Dr to decide what's best for you! Good LuckView Thread
Hannah, I don't have a clue what you are going through right now. I'm at a loss for words. I can imagin your boyfriend feels the same way. He has stuck through this so far. I'm guessing he is scared and unsure of how to help you cope. I know you have your Mom, but I understand the frustation of him not seeming to be there for you.
Hang in there you are such a strong women. You seem to be handling thing very well!
