Hey Hannah and Arbob!!! It has been a very long time and you know how life is....always dealing out those lemons. Hannah, I hope you are doing well. Did you every finish up nursing school? I have been lucky and been in remission for a very long time now. Hope y'all stay happy and healthy!!
jaimem, I wish you well with your fertility travels. I took Clomid 30 years ago and conceived with no pregnancy complications. Although I thought I was having twins in the beginning cause I was so big so fast, my doc assured me that I had the same amount of chance of having twins as did women not on Clomid. I did find this information for you and thought you might be interested. Good luck!
What are the chances of having twins with Clomid?
Wondering if you'll get your own pair of "Clomid twins"? From the way the media paints fertility drugs and multiples, it can seem that everyone taking Clomid is bound to have twins, but that's not really true. What are your chances of having twins if you take Clomid?
Answer: Generally speaking, Clomid causes twin pregnancies about 10% of the time, with less than 1% of Clomid pregnancies leading to triplets or higher order pregnancies. During clinical trials for Clomid, about 7% of pregnancies led to twins, about 0.5% of pregnancies led to triplets and 0.3% to quadruplets. During the clinical trials of the twin pregnancies, 1 in 5 were identical twins, while 80% of the twin pregnancies were fraternal twins (not identical). (Identical twins come from one egg, not two.) Some women ask their doctors to give them Clomid, not because they are having trouble getting pregnant, but just because they want to get pregnant with twins. There are risks that come with multiple pregnancies, though. You should think twice before purposely trying to get pregnant with twins.View Thread
Hi Sherrylang, welcome to our community. I was dx'd with CD at 54yo. Thankfully I am in remission. Personally, I did not go on Remicade but there have been several people her who have been on biologics who can help you better than me. I hope you feel better soon and have many pain free days.
There, apparently, is a new protocol for doing a repeat colonoscopy. I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2007 and went into remission the next year. I asked my GI about a repeat and he said that I didn't need another one for 5 years. He gave me the repeat schedule but I really don't remember what he said, all I know is that I won't need another on for a while (as long as I stay well). My doctor is also a professor of GI medicine at the University of Tennessee, so I think he is up on the latest protocols. Hope you stay in remission. Take care, JeaneauView Thread
I am so glad you have found peace! It is good to know that the reason you haven't been on is because you were busy and not so sick that you can't type! I really hope you and your children have a wonderfully Happy New Year with peace and wellness.

Ali, I worked surgery for a long time and we always had GS do small bowel resections. You can always request a gastro surgeon if you feel more comfortable. When you talk to this doc make him explain exactly what he intends to do to you. If you don't feel comfortable then request a new doc. Hope you feel better and that all goes well. Take good care,View Thread
Hi Ladies, Mindy, Hannah and Arbob, I have been reading all of the posts but have not had anything to reply to so I have been on the quiet side lately. Just to let you guys know that I am still here. Mindy, I am so happy that you have found someone you can be at peace with and happy with. It does make your life so much nicer and the children are happy when they see mom happy. Good for you, girl!
Hannah, keep your chin up, nursing school is difficult under the best circumstances but I have the utmost confidence in your ability to handle the stress....you are my hero! I love your kindness and determination and your selflessness. Keep up the good work!
Arbob, Glad to see that you are doing well with decreasing your dosages of pred. I love how you are like the "mom" of the group with your encouragement and capacity to help strangers. Just wanted to let y'all know that I am proud to be part of this community. Y'all take good care,View Thread
