I won't give up my bacon! As I said before, I don't eat it often, but when I do, I enjoy every bite with a big smile on my face. Had bacon and eggs this morning. Enjoyed the Baconator and didn't bother to think about the bad side of it!!! Good stuff!!!!!View Thread
I agree with you. I LOVE bacon, and even tho I don't eat a lot because of the calories/fat, when I do eat it, I load up. The best, the very best. And, we are going to Wendy's for Baconator's tonight!!! Just for the heck of it!!!!!View Thread
This subject is so interesting and I was wondering if anyone has any idea why the Baconator has such wonderful flare relieving results. We had a great family conversation about this yesterday (Mom's Day), because there are 3 of us in our joint family (ours plus our son-in-laws family) that have IBS and UC. Is it just the bacon or the combo of the cheese and whatever is in the Wendy's burgers? I do know that when I eat bacon (which is not often, although I love it and could probably devour a pound by myself!) I do seem to get some relief.
Any other "testimonials" or comments on this? I just may start on my one pound bacon breakfast anytime now, although my spring flare is over.View Thread
You are correct...steriods can be wonderful, but terrible at the same time. I have UC and was on prednisone for about 3 years, very low doses, however, except , higher doses when I was in a flare. Tapering the dose is never an easy thing to do, but because of the many warnings I read about the long term use of steroids, I bit the bullet and I was very determined to get off of prednisone. Well, it was one of the most difficult things I've had to do, and after many, many ups and downs, I finally did it, and I have to give a lot of credit to my husband for putting up with my "ups and downs", and my GI doctor for his wonderful directions and always being available to answer any questions I had.
I'm in a slight flare right now (Spring does that unfortunately), but I'm dealing with it by watching what I eat, trying to get a lot of rest, and while being stress free is difficult, I'm doing OK with that too. But I think I'll get through this without steroids this time. I don't want to go through that tapering again.
I hope everyone who has been on steroids for long term will read your posting carefully. You know what you're talking about and just hearing from someone who's been there and done that, can be extremely helpful. Thank you for that.
And again, so sorry for the loss of your brother. God bless.View Thread
I do know that Canada Dry Ginger Ale (and probably other brands as well) have natural ginger as an ingredient. And I also know that growing up, anytime we had an upset stomach, my mom would make us drink ginger ale, and it certainly did help. FYI!View Thread
