Hi, I just had a colonoscopy this week and the specialist told me I have either Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis. My issue is that all day long I feel the urge to have a bowel movement or diarrhea but it WON'T come out. I get cramping often, mostly on the left lower side of my stomach. I've read many people's posts and I can't seem to find anyone with symptoms like mine. I KNOW its not typical constipation, which some doctors and people have assumed. I've had an xray, CT scan, barium enema and all nothing. It wasn't until the colonoscopy that he suggested Crohn's or UC. It feels like inflammation of my bowel or an obstruction of some sort. If I take a laxative I get SEVERE cramping like I need to run to the bathroom and have diarrhea but my body won't let it out- so I won't take them, it causes way too much pain and doesn't work. When I sit there for long enough on the toilet and try to stimulate my body to go, or try sitting different ways, the tiniest bit of diarrhea or regular consistancy stools will come out, sometimes along with a gross mucus and/or blood sometimes. It's been like this for 4-5 months and it seems to be getting worse. The specialist prescibed me Aminosalicylic Acid pills and I've taken them for 3 days and it seems to be working, but its only been 3 days. Would this be Crohn's or UC if I have the opposite symptoms?View Thread
