I'm not sure how many of us are on Social Security Disability (or any kind of disability for that matter), but I just found out that some insurance companies will pay your life insurance premium while you are on disability. Some of them even go back to your date of diagnosis, not your date of approval for disability. As much as I hated to do it, I knew it was time to re-evaluate my policy because of all of my medical bills, etc. I contacted my representative and he told me that "yes" I would qualify to have my life insurance premiums paid! YAY! I had no idea that anything like that even existed! My husband and I are meeting with this man next week to go over a few things.....I will post any other info that I think may be helpful to any of you. Every penny counts!
When I get out of the hospital this time, one of the first things I will do when I get home is to pack a small bag with toiletries for my next middle-of-the-night ER trip. I was so weak with dehydration that I did not feel like putting anything together for myself. Of course they admitted me and I have been here for 3 days now. I do have family that can bring things to me, but I know what I like to have and I hate to have someone make an extra trip in here just to bring me a toothbrush or whatever. So, that is something that I will make sure I keep together in the hall closet from now on!View Thread
