Relieved. I was so tired of all the ads (tv, radio, junk mail). Some of the people I voted for won, some didn't. Some proposition I voted for won, others didn't. It happens and I don't let it upset me. I'm just amazed at how some people don't realize what their yes vote actually costs (I'm not talking about the presidential election).View Thread
Nope, won't help cut down on obesity. What's to stop them from getting refills as Demons2011 said or just ordering more than one drink? Not only do fast food places usually have free refills but most sit-down restaurants do as well.
Nope, not right to ban businesses from selling any size drinks they want. Will the ban apply to gas stations or convenience stores that sell the mega size drinks?View Thread
A co-worker who claims to be so busy but every time I walk past his cubicle, he's on a personal web site.
I'm doing his old work and my regular work due to being short-handed and I don't know what he did all day. I can do his old job in less than four hours a day and it would take him eight hours to do the same thing.
Also, if he complains long/loud enough, something that should be his resposibility will get taken away and given to someone else.
Also, I've heard how he talks to our boss and her boss when he's frustrated and am absolutely shocked. At my old job, he would have gotten written up for insubordination and sent home but nothing is done about it here.View Thread
Nope. I've never watched any shows like that (John & Kate Plue 8, The Duggars, etc) and don't plan on starting. She should have thought about whether or not she could afford 14 kids before she had them.
I think someone should help the kids (make sure they have clothes, food, etc) but that's it.View Thread
I don't think anyone should use tanning beds or even sunbathe. A tan is not "healthy," it's your body's way of preventing more damage.
One of my aunts is younger than my mom but looks older because she spent a lot of time in the sun when she was younger. I used to lay out but never for very long but now I try and stay in the shade and if I'm going to be in the sun make sure I'm wearing sunscreen.View Thread
Good work ethic. She would work overtime when required with no complaint. There were times when she'd start at 8a, get off at 4a and be back at work by 9a and then worry that she was late.
Not having a uterus doesn't make you less of a woman. She had a hysterectomy over 30 years ago and never regretted it. Her sister actually asked her if it made her feel less of a woman and she honestly said no.View Thread
I know what study you're referring to. The link isn't proven, it's just suggested.
Autism aside, there are kids who have behavior problems through no fault of their parents. There are kids who have bipolar disorder, are diagnosed schizofrenic, etc. Are you going to say those illnesses are the parents fault?View Thread
Not necessarily. My aunt knows a woman whose son was brain damaged at birth when his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. Some of the first words he spoke were "I'm going to get a knife and kill you." This mom had quit her job to make sure her son was taken care of and is an excellent advocate for her son; I've met her.
There are some kids, for example severely autistic kids, who have behavior problems through no fault of their parents. The wiring in their brains just isn't right.View Thread
I try to be careful. I try not to put anything out there that can identify my exact location. I'm careful not to put that I'm going on vacation and for how long just in case somone sees that and decides to find where I live and rob my house. I definitely don't post naked or compromising pics of me or anyone I know. I don't post pics of my kids naked no matter how cute they are.
I've heard a good rule of thumb is to not say/post anything you wouldn't post on a public bulletin board.View Thread
