I have never heard of Tramadol being used as an antidepressant. It is used for pain and is an opiate. It is habit-forming and shouldn't be stopped quickly. I'd let your doctor know all the truths you should or you are just wasting your money. There are antidepressants like Cymbalta that treat depression and pain. I get more pain relief with Etodolac (an anti-inflammatory, prescription,anti-inflammatory). I'd advise taking it a little as possible due to possible liver, kidney issues-which can be monitored. Neurontin (gabepentin) is an anti-seizure drug, but is often used for pain. It has fewer possible side effects than many medications. I wouldn't recommend self-treatment. You could suggest some of these meds to your doctor and see what they say. Let him taper you off the tramadol if you have become 'addicted' to it.View Thread
I am so sorry for your experience. That could be a real setback in trust for anyone. The truth is-many doctors and therapists are NOT good, or not good for YOU. You might read reviews on-line before selecting one or get a referral from someone you do trust. Hooking up with an unhealthy person can be very damaging to your healing. Just because they have some schooling doesn't mean they know what they are doing. Don't give up for your own sake. Alcohol, drugs, hurting yourself in anyway-is not your friend. Just because someone else doesn't give you what you deserve-don't let them 'make' you worse. You are worth being listened to, helped, and cared for. You DO matter! or you wouldn't be here, on this earth. Hang in there!View Thread
