My daughter just turned 6 and she has already been in an inpatient facility for depression. She has been doing good with her follow up care and seemed happy until she started kindergarten in august. She has been experiencing bullying at school and on the bus. I have notified the school of the bullying and we are working with the teacher, bus driver and school councelor on this issue. But my daughter has become completely withdrawn from everything she loves. She constantly wants me to just hold her or be around me...i cant even go to the bathroom without her in there. I have been given some techniques to use to help her some at home but was wondering if anyone else had any advice on things that maybe helped their kids deal with depression. The doctor tells me depression is hereditary and it makes sense because I have also dealt with depression sense I was about 4. I am currently talking with her physciatrist on medication options but im so afraid she is to young to take meds. I just want whats best for baby girl and any advice would be greatly appreciated.View Thread
