Both Amlodipine and Lisinopril have been associated with this problem - I don't know how commonly and how severely.
And of course diabetes itself is a known cause. In most cases we're diabetic for a while before we know it and get treated.
See your doctor. There may be other drugs you can take instead of Amlodipine and Lisinopril that won't effect you the same way, or one of the ED drugs may be of help. If you're overweight, losing weight will also help.View Thread

Growing up oatmeal was something I had only at my grandmothers and it never had flavouring added - just butter. I'd still prefer it that way, but I use it as my "delivery vehicle" for the cinnamon and blueberries.
Being a physically active man, even when in weight loss mode breakfast is a 500 calorie meal.View Thread

I never order special meals unless I know in advance what they are and what they're replacing. I just don't trust other people to interpret what a diabetic meal is.View Thread

I use 1/4 cup of large flake oatmeal, two tablespoons of ground flax, 2 teaspoons of margarine, 6 cranks of salt (my grinder doesn't give much) one packet of Splenda and 1/4 cup frozen blueberries.
He gets 1/8th cup of oatmeal, two cranks of salt, about a tablespoon of olive oil, and a heaping teaspoon of Metamucil added after cooking.View Thread

I'm also aware though, that this is a progressive illness. My father is on meds despite being slimmer, eating better and getting enough exercise. I certainly don't view having to take a few pills at 80 as any kind of defeat.View Thread

There is no scientific evidence whatsoever that either of them is harmful. There is a lot of scaremongering and medical quackery out there, but both sweeteners have been safely used for years (three decades for Equal) by hundreds of millions of people.View Thread
