This past Monday my dr. put me on Metformin because my level is 7, up from 6.5 in June. Have not had a fasting glucose. Am on 1000mg a day of the meds and my highest number after breakfast and lunch is 105. This morning my number is 108 after no eating for 12hrs which I thought was high. Having done Atkins in the past the no "bad"carb eating is familiar to me. Just cannot figure out what my amount of carbs per day should be. Am female 60yrs old and have about a 100lbs to lose..haha..Have high cholesterol, unmedicated for that and on high blood pressure meds. Open to all ideas and suggestions. LesleaView Thread
