Does anyone know what could cause liver numbers on a blood test to elevate? My mother is 82 yrs old and has emphysema and her dr told her that her liver numbers elevated on a blood test. She is a VERY NERVOUS NELLY. Would stress she is causing me make my numbers to jump? I mean I love her but every 5 minutes she called last night thinking she has cancer or something else and it is driving me nuts! I haven't checked my number yet, but could stress cause spikes? I am taking her to the dr today but she still is making my stress level to go way up. Thanks for listening had to vent a little.View Thread

Hi Everyone as most of you know I am type 2 on Metformin 500mg twice a day and Victoza in the am. Well my numbers have been all over the board. Usually in the morning my numbers are good but then 2 hours after I eat BAM they are high and that usually happens in the evening. Sometimes during the afternoon they'll go high even when I haven't eaten. Yes I am overweight and am disabled (besides diabetes) so excerise is very hard for me. I know it's my eating habits it's the carbs. I canot seem to limit them. I tried, but even after I limit them I am starving, my stomach is literally growling. I cannot afford to go to a nutrionist. Any help, words of encouragement, advise is greatly appreciated. I guess I really need to know that I am not alone in this fight. Thanks, SheriView Thread

He doesn't eat or drink sugary drinks or foods. He had a couple of sips of soda because he was so thirsty from the fever. The ER Dr really didn't seem concerned which kind of annoyed me, since they could not find the source of the fever.View Thread

Last Wed I was put on Victoza, which was added to my Metformin 500mg twice a day. I am having trouble limiting my carbs. How did you guys/gals do it? This is so difficult for me. I was diagnosed Type 2 a few months back. I started with Metformin 500mg twice a day. I am truly a carb addict and it is frightening me because I can't seem to control myself. My numbers 2 hours after I eat are in ithe 190's. I know, not good. Please I need some advice. I went to a diabetes education class and learned about carbs and such, but I feel do defeated. I would love to see a dietician but do not have the money to pay them, so what can I do? Please help me if you can! Thanks SheriView Thread

Hi all:
This last Wed my Endo added Victoza to my regiment. So now I inject Victoza once a day and take 500mg of Metformin twice a day. I tested this am without having eaten and I came out at 144 so I had some crackers and some water. This evening I forgot to test before I ate (wasn't thinking) but I tested 2 hours after I ate and tested at 194, I then waiting 20-30 and tested again and tested at 150. I did test before I ate lunch and it was 99 and after lunch it was 109 (which was good). What the heck am I doing wrong? I am watching my carbs but am having trouble limiting them. Tonight I had 1 slice of Rye toast with 1 slice of swiss cheese. Any suggestions from the gallery on how you guys learned to limit carbs? Any help is appreciated. Thank you, SheriView Thread

Congrats on getting your sugars down. I also have a callus on my big toe, never even thought it could be from Diabetes. I also have trouble taking this seriously. I am a carb addict! I just want to tell you unfortunately once a diabetic, always a diabetic. You can control it, but it never entirely goes away. Good luck to you!View Thread
