I had done a scuba dive trip in the Bahamas in April 2012 and a crosscountry horseback trip in France in June. Around the time of the dive trip I seem to have developed a diarrhea problem in the afternoons while at work but not during weekends. After returning from France, I developed a tremendous thirst and was urinating more than normal. I was having trouble sleeping at night due to cramps in my calves. During the trip, I lost about 10 pounds and another 5 after returning to the states. I saw family doctor July 5 and he suggested I intake more calories to put weight back on. On August 20 I returned to the same doctor for physical and blood tests. Determined I had diabetes and I visited an endocrinologist September 12. Test results indicated I have Type 1 and she put me on insulin. Currently injecting insulin twice daily. Glucose level fluctuates and we are still trying to get complete control.View Thread
