Please help with some info. I went & saw a Endo doc . My C-peptide test results are 4.7. They are not worried or care to do anything but keep me on a sample pack of Nevolog flex pen reg fast acting. My BS's are now 200 3oo, after a month! Shouldn't I be on long acting? As my number are not doing what they should with great diet and watching every carb I eat and no sugars. My vision is so bad prescriptions with bifocals I need magnify glass. I have called doctor with no results. Will see me on 30th. This was 2 wks ago. Any advise? I remember while I was in hospiutal my levels went up due to steriods. So they gave me according to how many units over. Wouldn't it be same here? and if Im at b4 meal at 91 do I still need a shot? Thank youView Thread

Hi ~
I had an appointment with the Endo doctor & next one is 30th. He doesn't see any need to see me before then. I was wondering about the lunch time. Strangly the last 3 days my BS have gone down into 198 area for ONLY about 2 hrs. Then its back in 200 to 300 again. I did call the office back to reschedule but there are no openings. also. He got back to me & said if I have any more problems set up with Diabetes counslor. What a crock. Yes I am a pusher & fighter & have a hard time excepting no. When I know I maybe on wrong meds. It says right in pamphlet that it is Recommended to be used with long acting insulin~
I agree 100 %! You have to be your own advocate!!!! !2 yrs worth of trying to trust docs leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I will say docs in Colorado are 99.99 % better and compassionate along with getting in there to get results.
Thats a great idea!!!!! I will call Humanna today for a referral to try & get into Mayo. Thank you. Didn't think of that one.
Yes it does help. I am also real new to this site. Am trying to learn to get around..
Sincerly,

I have PPO insurance so no referral needed. But If it willl help will ask for a referral. I am so sick & tired of being sick & tired & in pain. Im getting scared at my age how my system is shutting down persay. I saw a GI yesterday. They are doing a upper GI since its been 4 yrs. Then they are doing another liver biopsy which has been 2004 I believe. My SGOTs are off the roof again as in 2000 they were high200 to 300 also. He also yesterday took 10 vials of blood for liver tests and such. I had to ask for a UV as my primary new one or any other had done it. Am happy over that one.
I just want to be fixed & thinking Mayo is the next best thing? The GI doc yesterday I liked! Real nice & listened. Cute too..
plus. Now will wait for results. If like Colorado will get all results & not know what to do with them. I know is hard to get into Mayo. Will try harder to get referral. Thanks.
What do we do when even walking makes my feet weel? Thats like I am out shopping and just walking in 3 different stores am in so much pain! Wow.
What else do you have going on?
It was nice to hear from you. It helps me know am not alone in this.
Sincerely,
DeeView Thread

yes I eat lunch. Than you. I write a letter to mayo clinic to try & get in ~ I hope to hear good news.
That is what I thought about sliding scale of insulin. I feel he just doesn't care. They said if any wuestions ask the diaticin educator who works with doc to get me on right meds. Then what is doc good for? I ask myself......
Thank you for your helpView Thread

Yes that is great that you have yours at 5.7 like I did for past 8 yrs! Nothing has changed. I haven't been as active but nothing there can be done~
Thank you!View Thread

My BS has been in the high 300 & 400 for 3 wks and went on meds. Glipizide 5 mg ER & Novo Log flex pen just started 30 mg 2 a day yesterday was on 15 units 2. Which had no change at all so called doc yesterday & nurse said to talk it over with Diabetic counsulor. I asked if she was a doc? or could write scripts? no.... So why am I having to wait a month till I see her to get my Sugar levels down? Shouldn't I go to ER? my finger just started getting numb and tingly. Plus I don't feel good. sick in digestive area & my legs are real sore hard to walk. They suggested wait till I see Endo again. I said thats why am calling. Is it true that over 180 for more than 3 days DANGUROUS? Im thinking even with 30 units bump up I should go to ER to make sure. What do you think?View Thread
