There are low sodium soups which are not that great nutritionally but they are better for diabetics than regular canned soups. Trader Joes has some nice low sodium soups.
While diabetics should avoid processed foods which are high sodium, canned soup will not cause a person to develop diabetes.View Thread

Any type II diabetic who is insulin dependent is eligible to receive more test strips each month at no additional cost if they are on Medicare.t. I am provided four strips per day since I use HumulinN.
Your doctor simply has to fill out a form and send it to the Medicare folks.
This is not the case for folks who do not use insulin.View Thread

Are you actually saying that your food stamps which I and other taxpayers provide to those folks who are food insecure can be used to buy cigarettes? You have got to be kidding me.
No reputable doctor would recommend you continue to smoke to avoid gaining weight. Come on, now!View Thread

I have had HepC since 1981. I have attempted to treat the virus unsuccessfully with interferon treatment. The interferon and ribavarin drugs did not affect my BS at all.
I take diuretics and drugs to treat hepatic encephalopathy for my advanced cirrhosis at this time. Neither affects my BS.
I believe your friend needs to see their hepatologist ASAP to see what is causing her elevated enzymes. I doubt it is related to her diabetes. but could be an increase in her viral activity..View Thread

I just think you are about the only one ready to engage in any more conversation. The poor message board has been brought to its knees by one person this year. It think anyone who wants to have conversations with a certain person needs to be prepared for the whole hoopla to start all over again.
I do not think you should give anyone your e-mail. I just assumed this site had a private message function.View Thread

Are you sticking with the diet provided in your Meals on Wheels meals? You should only have to make food choices for breakfast and a couple of small snacks a day.View Thread
