It's nice that the docs are now much slower to play the guilt game. When I was young, the threats from docs (do this or you'll die a horrible death) were terrible and terrifying. I have a friend who's hospital room was torn apart by a doc who claimed that since she was a teenaged T1, she must be hiding sweets in her room.
I'm glad that docs have become more humane, but I wish they they knew more about diabetes in general. Parents need to know more about healthy diet too I think in order to show a good example for their kids. My folks made sure that treats were occasional, not an every day occurance. I'm grateful for that because it has helped my health tremendously.
