Funny thing I found out about exercising...the more you do it, the more you want to do it.
I am not an exercise nut..apologies ahead of time if I offended anyone
...but I really did not want to think about exercising. So I had to force myself to put on my tennis shoes and go for a walk...then the next day again...put on my tennis shoes and walk.
I found that I felt so much better that I now look forward to going for my daily walk and have added time each day.
Next step, lifting weights.
OMGoodness...I'm actually enjoying lifting weights. <insert toning bicep>

I think once you get over the dread, you may find yourself enjoying it.
Hope so/ Good luckView Thread

I am thankful to the Father in Heaven I believe in for His gift of free will.
He allows me choose right from wrong, good from evil and given that we are in a healthy community forum...choosing to eat healthy and take care of my human temple or chose not to and face the consequences.
He is there when I pray for guidance, showing me the way, but it is my choice whether I listen or deny. He will hold me accountable for my choices.
This is my journey to gain knowledge and wisdom. In this journey free will is a blessing not to be taken lightly.View Thread

I have lovely memories of helping my Mom cooking and baking and our "girl talk" together.
Now I am passing on to my grandchildren memories they will have of cooking and baking with their Mimi.
And my husband loves to cook too so they love getting together with him and cook/bake away.
And what a lovely reward bringing to the table a meal you have mastered with the help of little hands.

The plus...my grandchildren ASK to help in the kitchen even with the clean up.
Yep, warm, lovely memories.View Thread

I've been wheat free since Feb 1st and am not looking back.
I feel like I've always wanted to feel...Healthy!
I was shocked <insert eyes bugging out> to see how many foods that I was eating on a regular basis contain wheat and they weren't just breads and cereals.
I haven't read his book but I have checked out the website and read about Wheat Belly in the May issue of Prevention Guide.
Hope you continue to feel well.View Thread

I quit smoking almost 7 years ago and the thought of just one cigarette gives me the heebee-jeebees, Yech., Blech, ohhhh nooooo way.
I am changing my way of thinking about junk food just as I did about cigarettes.
There is no good cigarette or donut to be had. LOL
I also ask myself, the cravings are gone, why invite/introduce them back in again?
It would be another lousy ride to go thru to blast the cravings away again whether it be a cigarette or a donut.
I KNOW I couldn't have just one! (of either)
I don't want to go thru withdrawal over and over and over...I like myself too much
Once is enough. No more cigarette cravings and no more junk food cravings.
YES! I am on the right track. Yippee!
Time for a delicious apple
which by the way are my sweets of choice.View Thread
I'm going on my 2nd week of being wheat free...and loving it!
I feel lighter
and have lost 2 pounds which was my goal. The one amazing factor is that I don't feel like I'm starving as I did when I wasn't dieting. I was always hungry no matter how much I ate. And the scales can prove it. <insert look of horror>
I have noticed that the intestinal upset I usually experience after a meal is gone and so is my acid reflux.
Of course it could all be attributed to paying more attention to my portions and eating only healthy foods BUT if I do have a wheat sensitivity then I have found the healthy way of eating for me.
All I know is I feel great for the first time in years!
Take good care everyone

I am happy to report all is well and I have not been eating badly at all.

I have been diligent in counting calories, exercising and my new best friends are fruits and veggies.
Whoda thunk it?
When I crave something sweet I grab an apple and peanut butter, or berries. Sweet can be found in fruit.
And I learned this from a quitting smoking forum: Cravings will not kill you...so I usually let it roll over me, grab a nice juicy peach and move on.
So all in all..feeling better, moving better and enjoying the journey.

Good going for you, quitting smoking.
I did 7 years ago and have never looked back.
My only advice is read, read, read about the different methods people are using to lose weight.
For me I am counting calories and exercising more.
So far, so good.
One will work for you and you can tailor it to fit your lifestyle.
Quitting smoking is a BEST first step.
Congratulations!
