I started the WebMD Food & Fitness Planner last January at 172lbs and dropped pounds very easily by monitoring my 1200 daily calories intake and spending calories on activities. I am now at 152 lbs, I lost 20lbs in 10 weeks only (average 2lbs per week) and I am very proud. I eat healthy and do regular cardio + strength. I now fit in my old clothes. I did changed my lifestyle.
But now, it has been more than 2 weeks that I stopped loosing weight. It is not moving! It has been so easy so far, how comes it has stopped?
Possibly 2 things: 1) I am gaining in muscles (sure, but how can we measure that? and why a complete stop in loosing weight?) and 2) I need to increase my level of activities (but I have done that already about a month ago)
I still have 7lbs to loose to reach the upper limit of an healthy BMI. What can I do?

I desperately want to lose weight. I eat right and attempt to exercise, however the more I exercise the more intense my back pain gets. It then takes several days for the back pain to ease. Any suggestions as to what I can do? I have seen doctors; have had several back injections and RFA with relief for only a couple of months at best. I am so tired of fighting this weight and back pain.

I challenge everyone on the board to get outside and walk today. Then, come to the board and tell us what you saw while you were out in the fresh air.
(And, if you're counting your steps, how many did you log?)

but in that time I have yoyo'd 60-100 lb many times.
My basic health is remarkably good, no diabetes, low cholesterol,
normal blood pressure...bad knees, otherwise ok.
But the knees are getting worse, and I am too heavy for knee replacement. Taking methadone for pain but not every day.
gym, water aerobics, weight room most days.
I am trying juicing after watching movie "fat, sick, and nearly dead"
also interested in Dr gundry diet. Looking for help!View Thread
First, I'll give a little background info on myself. I am 22. I weigh in at 192 on most days and am 5'11'', so that puts me at 26 on the BMI scale. In December I was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, which has totally altered my way I think about food. I've always been a pretty healthy eater, oatmeal in the morning, lots of fruit and veggies and such, but I also have a sweet tooth that I indulge in a couple times a week. But after years of eating what I thought to be healthy foods (oatmeal, whole grain bread, etc...), I found out they were actually making me gain weight due to my body's response to the gluten. So, I'm trying to reverse the damage that this (along with some other unhealthy habits) has done to me. This is my start. This is my chance. And I am going to take it.
I'm starting off small. Since I am already a fairly healthy eater, I am going to focus on exercising for the first two months of my new life (don't that sound cheesy?). I have been exercising somewhat irregularly for the past two months, but it has given me a starting point. I can run one ten minute mile and feel energized enough to run/walk more. What I want to do is make my running a habit, not a on-again, off-again relationship that it has been for the past 4 years. It's hard to break a 4 year habit, but like I said, when you have the inspiration, you have to run with it. My goal for the next month is to be able to run 3 miles at the ten minute pace. I want to run a 5k. I want to do this for myself and no one else. This is my chance to get the body and life I want, and I'm going to take it.
Long term goal: Lose 25 lbs-Putting me in the medically "normal" BMI range.
Mid-term goal: Run a 5k in 40 days (and live to tell the tale)
Short-term goal: Run the 2.14 mile trail tomorrow morning, Friday morning, and Sunday morning. Also, avoiding exorbitant amounts of sweets and caffeine is on this list as well, just so I can be held? accountable.
I will report back on Sunday, or perhaps sooner, to relay my progress and promises kept.View Thread
I hate sabotaging myself sometimes.i have been able to exercise 4-6 dpw last 4 months, yet it's the calorie counting that is hard for me. I am 5'4" and 150lbs, therefore I try to limit myself to1200 calories, yet there are days that my emotions or sweet tooth overcome all my other will power. I keep trouble foods out of house, but with my daughters bday coming up, I am baking, tasting, and ending the day feeling a sweet tooth sabotage overload. I am not happy with this, and do nt see myself being able to meet my goal of loosing 15 pounds by summer...View Thread
I'm 27 years old female, 5'5 and 160lbs. 160lbs - I never thought in a million years that I would be at this weight. I watched my weight slowly creep up and continued to make excuses until this morning, I got on the scale and almost started crying. But unlike other times, when I've made disparaging remarks about myself, I decided that I'm going to change this and take control of my weight, diet and exercise regime.
What I need from you, as a community, is to let me know that there are people like me out there! Who have always struggled with their weight and are now succeeding in losing weight. I am fully aware of the proper exercise and eating habits but in a strange way, I need the help of strangers to know that I have people backing me up and who have been in my position. I'm scared that I'm setting myself up to fail (again) and perhaps with the support of others, this journey will seem a little less daunting.
Thank you!View Thread
I gained back the weight I had lost last year, and I have never felt so discouraged! I workout every day and eat very healthy, but somehow I gained this weight back! It wasn't like i was just slugging around, eating pizza and junk! I run at least 3 or 4 times a week, do yoga twice, and strength train about every other day! I don't absolutely love working out, but it has become such a part of my routine, and I know that when I work out, I feel so much better afterwards!
I think that my pit fall is the amount of food that I am eating, I think that I eat to the point that I am stuffed full! Its awful! I don't want that mindset that I need to eat till I'm incredibly uncomfortably full! I also think that I have a tendency to eat when I'm bored, but again its not candy or chips or foods that I know are bad for me. Another pitfall I have when eating is that I eat with boys! I don't have many girlfriends at school, so I eat almost all my meals with my boyfriend and the boys on his baseball team, who can eat probably 3 times the amount I should be eating!
I really want to lose 15 pounds that I put on so I can feel confident and feel wonderful in my body! I also want to lose this weight for my health! I tore my ACL and had surgery, then re tore it last fall. I know that if i am even 15 pounds lighter, it will be a lot of pressure off my knee!
I was hoping for any advice to help me reach my goal and stay motivated! How can I portion control? How do I go about changing my lifestyle for the better? I need to change something so I can lose this weight and feel empowered and confident again!!!!
ANY ADVICE AT ALL WOULD BE SO GREATLY APPRECIATED!=>!View Thread

I have been trying for several months now to lose weight and usually get to about 5 pounds, then go on a binge. It's unhealthy and packs my lost weight and more back on. I know I need to stop it, so I am making a public announcement - I can do this! I have tried just about every diet imaginable and have not successfully been able to stay on one without crashing. I know I need to try moderation and balance the nutrients that I need and that I need to get more exercise.
Goals:
Fitness - Be able to run a 5K (I can currently go about 2 miles before feeling unable to breathe)
Weight Loss - Lose 20 pounds and keep it off!
How? - This is my problem. I don't know how to lose the weight that I want to and keep it off. I am trying to snack on vegetables and fruit when I crave, but have been struggling. The only issue that may come into play with diet restrictions is that I am lactose-intolerant. Lactase pills (Lactaid and such) don't seem to have any effect on me, so I have essentially cut out dairy products from my diet. I am taking calcium supplements to make up for lost calcium though. Any responses and tips are appreciated, so please keep me motivated to post and stay on track!

I have been working toward losing weight for about 10 months now, actually I should say I was working really hard from last April through about October, then I kind of stopped. I am getting married in July and my plan was to try to get to 125 by the wedding. Between April and October I went from 140 to 127. Then I hit a plateau, got discouraged, and started slacking off. I haven't lost (or gained, thankfully) anything since.
I am very happy with what I have accomplished but I still think I have more weight to lose to get to my ideal body so my new goal is to get to 120 before the wedding. I have 5 months, which might seem like plenty of time to lose 7 lbs but considering the scale hasn't moved in months I am a little skeptical.
Any advice or support is greatly appreciated!View Thread
