I used to be a size 6. I realize that things change, but my knees and my back hurt. I try to walk 2 - 3 times per week. I also work full time at a computer. Thanks!View Thread
Then in April of 2012, I got the Essure procedure done because I had turned 21. I had been married over 6 months by then and was very scared of an ectopic pregnancy because over 50% of my uterus is scar tissue. It was the only procedure that local doctors would to do for someone my age. I knew weight gain could happen since I was upsetting my natural body, and getting of birth control, but all the reviews I have read were from people in their 30's-40's not wanting more children. Anyhow, my always flat stomach ballooned out and I really don't know whether to blame my circumstances or just being married (since I've always been told women gain weight after marrying).
I haven't been able to be active this past winter, and now I'm getting on my bike again (I bike over 10 miles a day). I work in a grocery store, but I don't eat while I am there (I drink 2-3 bottles of water since it's been hot in the brick building). My stomach is still there, and my thighs are flab, but I never considered myself to get on a "diet" I already rarely drink soda (i hate High Fructose Corn Syrup because I've seen a barrel containing just that ingrediant), and my husband and I don't eat much for junk food.l My husband is a 6'6" toothpick, and has 2 hollow legs, but I try not eat near as much as him. I don't eat much chocolate, so all baked goods (i.e. chocolate cake), he eats. I am just as satisfied eating a bag of saltine (saltless) crackers, but I can also an entire box of mac&cheese and still be hungry. We don't eat much meat because it's so expensive, so our main diet is pasta/rice/bread and vegis (fruit is expensive too).
the only salt engulfed thing we eat is ramen and that's only when we are short on time (still in the college mentality), and we eat out about once a month (not to McD's but to Olive Garden, or Chinese).
I am not sure what else to say about lifestyle, but I'd like to get down to about 130lbs. That means I need to lean up, but I have no idea how to do that since what I am used to is lifting weights and just pushing my body's strength. I know to do cardio, but I already do that biking (my small lungs get more of a workout then anything else). I am not sure what to change about my diet since what I already do is pretty healthy. Back in February I added fiber chewies and diet pills to my routine. I eat the fiber chews before meals, or if I feel snacky I eat 2 of those (with lots of water) instead of food. The diet pills are from walmart and currently I'm trying Hydroxycut and Zantrex 3 though I am not really seeing any results (except I feel tons more energized). I have really bad lower back pain and my knee pain so I tend to stay away from routines I did as a high schooler. I ain't afraid to work hard and often wear myself out over weekends at my husband's parents farm. Other than misc. stuff, my main exercise is biking.
what am I doing wrong? any advice? i ran out of space to say anything more. Thanks for reading.View Thread
Fast forward to 2 years ago, I switched to Effexor and Ativan. Those two work great to control my mental health issues, however I gained a quick 50 lbs.
Intermittent exercise over the last year has, I guess, helped to lose 10lbs...but it took a year. My diet is proper. My wife and I eat well portioned and balanced meals. I have had my thyroid checked, and every other test I can think of, but this weight will not go any where.
Now I am really upset. Beyond angry even. 5 weeks ago I decided I had enough. Enough being teased, enough being embarressed. I ramped it up. Literally 30 out of the last 35 days I have been exercising intensely. Switching one day running 3 miles, the next intense weight lifting. I was a college athlete, I know what a hard workout is, and I have been pushing myself through hard workouts. Our diet hasn't changed (I have not been eating more unconsciously as a result of the increased activity....I just weighed myself...I HAVE GAINED 2.5 LBS since I have started. How does this happen?
March 18th - 210 lbs
March 27th - 210 lbs
April 1st - 213 lbs (3 pound weight gain over 4 DAYS???)
April 8th - 211.5 lbs
April 15th - 210 (so I gained 3 pounds in 4 days, then it took 2 weeks to take it off)
April 24th - 212.5 lbs
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN????
I am sick of this...what's the point of being sore and tired all the time, if it doesn't work at all? Not only does it not work, but as of 20 minutes ago, all of the extra work has only succeeded in reversing the desired effects. You are going to ask me how I feel, and how do my clothes fit. I feel fine, and my clothes fit the same. I am sorry, but I am angry. I am sick of being embarrassed and apologizing to my wife for how I look. I need answers. I need the answers that neither my PCP, Nutritionist, nor my Psychopharmacologist have been able to provide.
If there is anyone out there, that can offer anything to me, for any science at all as to how this is happening. I am all ears.

Some of this posting this so the staff of WebMD will read it and become active in changes! We need national community planning and major non-profit organization changes.
Since I am a 56 yo female, exercise friends are (right now) non-existant. FYI women will chat at the gym, but getting them to commit to anything regular is like chasing cats. I see so much of it all about social approval and distance!
I don't mind putting some money into fun instead of food. I could write a book on society's shove-off of the over 55 female and exercise! We don't belong on golf courses unless we are competitive and already trained. Same for tennis. Not one bicycle group in my area (although I have hopes through Meetup) for the average bicyclist. Try finding bicycle paths!
Not one program offered through our Tax-Exempt, non-profit recreation department or the YMCA in my town of Kissimmee, FL for over WORKING 55 women (unless you want to exercise in a chair with the 90 year olds and risk taking off your job, I'm told "Silver Sneakers". Or required to mix into programs that are Hispanic.). I've written complaints several times that have fallen on deaf ears. Since these organizations are supported with exemption of public tax dollars, why don't they serve all the public, not just active 20 year olds with a hint of inclusion in the 70-90 year old crowd, or based to one segment of the population?
We collectively need to insist that our communities become planned for all age people to exercise!
So, I'm left to consider the fun kids have (why shouldn't I?). Has anyone acquired an XBox 360 with a kinect box? Have you tried the "Live" connection? I'd like to see a write up on this....
Thanks.View Thread

In over a year I have had the privilege to help so many reach their goal weight with this simple program. I started a FB Group called Isa-Journey where members can come and share their results, get support, tips, motivation and so much more to help stay on track. Please join me and so many others at https://www.facebook.com/groups/245038165562139/ I should mention the company is so sure that this will work they offer a 100% money back guarantee, so what do you have to lose?View Thread
im desperate, im not happy with how i am right now and i want to be healthier.View Thread
I can't believe I've been in a diet for almost 2 months. I feel like I should be messing up by now. I don't have cravings anymore, but when I see chocolate or fat food I still feel like I should be wanting it as if my brain hasn't adapted to the change my body has adapted to. Any feedback or advice?
Info on me: I am trying to lose 40 pounds. I am 18 and I weight 160 or weighted. I am not quite sure, as I haven't weight myself since I started my diet. My clothes feel looser and I've been told I look skinner. Yet I have this fear that I will weight myself and see the same number or a very close number like 158. That will be very discouraging. I also exercise daily and I am trying to do longer or harder exercise as I progress.
Cross fingers that this diet actually works for me.View Thread
