Hi RoseLynn02, you've been so kind. I am also in the midwest. I hope you like your new city.
I haven't heard another response from the fatigued hypothyroid poster. I do hope she is getting the medical care and hormone replacement. Without the replacement, I would not be alive today, nor would any other average hypothyroid person.
Without our thyroid hormone our body cells would not work, we would go into coma and die. Does not happen anymore because of the medicine hormone replacement.
Thanks for the warm welcome RoseLynn02, I went ahead and posted to the "trying to loose 30lbs by March" post. I hope she sees my post and finds it helpful.
Hypothyroid persons do not follow a special diet or exercise. With daily replacement thyroid medicine the quality of life should be that of an average person.
Losing weight is definitely a challenge in general, as with the average population! My current goal is to lose 7 pounds by March. That way I will see 189 on the scale, and finally be below 190lbs again.View Thread
Hi BriJohnson11, Roselynn02 invited me on my post to say hello. I also have hypothyroidism. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. If you have a fairly standard hypothyroid diagnosis you will find that it is not a serious disease. It will not shorten your life or affect the quality of your life once your treatment is under control.
All we need is to build up the thyroid hormone in our bodies, and continue taking the tiny pill every morning an hour before breakfast. Sure, that's a little bit inconvenient. But consider it compared to other more serious diseases that destroy the quality of your life and shorten it.
Before diagnosis was the worst time for me with the complete fatigue and weight gain, among other troublesome symptoms. After treatment my work has been to lose the weight through nutrition and regular exercise, both of which have taken awhile but now I am healthier every day once again.
No other special dietary or exercise needs are required.
How are you feeling today? Oh, your large thyroid size will decrease with treatment. It's enlarged because it is trying to make hormone but can't.View Thread
Sorry for the loss of your husband. I have other stressers, but now I am committed to losing 49 pounds to get to goal weight of 145. I am 5'4" and just turned 50 years young this year. I've already lost 29 pounds gradually over the last 16 months.View Thread
