The problems were getting worse as I continued to over eat, consume junk food, and alcohol. When your feet start to go numb, and your blood sugar level is 190 with medications, I've seen the anle so to speak and have decided to get in shape and healthy.
Yes, it is true that some people have these problems as a genitic thing, and it can't be helped. I on the other hand hope that by loosing 85-100 pounds will possibly make it so I do not need the meds to survie the issues. I started out at 285 and am steadily loosing, and I am now at 265. Food and drink habits have chaged for the positive and I will continue to reach my goal and stay there. In just 20 pounds I notice the positive difference.View Thread

Does anyone know what is appropriate to give to a niece's new baby boy? I have her a crib sheet and bath toy at the baby shower a couple weeks ago.View Thread

So, I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff. I have never had blood work done for tests like these. However, I am pretty sure that my HDL is way too low and I need to raise that. What do yall think? I'm sure yall know more about these things than I do...View Thread

In the last week i have not worked out, not once. Dont get me wrong, i want to work out, but i just dont. I set the time aside and end up just sitting on my butt or do house work. UGH! I swear, every time that i set out to lose weight, it is the motivation part of it that gets me lost.
Any ideas?View Thread

SW 325 CW 305.2 Short term goal-299 Goal weight- unsure
Someone on here put that will power was like a muscle that kept getting stronger, and I had been using that to get me through tough moments. Last night, that muscle deflated. A pack of goldfish crackers were my Kryptonite and it snowballed. They didn't even taste that good! Why can't I stop once I start?
OK. I know it's over. Its a new day. I can get back on this and I WAS doing pretty well. My official weigh ins are Friday anyway, so that's lots of time to undo the damage I did last night. This definitely won't be the last time I slip up, but the slip ups will get less and less. My will power muscle is getting stronger with each time I tell myself "no" to unplanned eating. I will ask my guys if they want to go for a long walk on Sunday.
OK. Am breathing. Thanks a lot for listening. RachaelView Thread

I needed to get it done because this was my last opportunity until Sunday when some guys from church are coming out to trim all my trees and fix my spigot in the back that is so hard to turn all the way off without a drip. It took longer than usual because I still need to get my old push mower to the shop, but I made do, and at least it's done for now. I'm hurting, though. My back hurts. It will feel a lot better in the morning, I'm sure. I still have to give my dog a bath. That will be interesting with my back the way it is, but he is overdue, and he is visiting some friends tomorrow, so have to at least give him a bath. He needs a trim, too, but that's just not going to happen right now, ha.
Oh, I nixed the echocardiogram that was scheduled for today because between the annual deductible and then the portion I would have to pay, it would have been $600 out of pocket, which they are willing to let me pay in sections, but I just can't take on more bills right now. Haven't heard anything about chest x-ray or EKG, and no news is good news. Did get some lab results back. Was pleased to see that my fasting blood sugar is still under 100. Whew. Haven't seen all the results yet. I'm sure my cholesterol numbers aren't so great. OH, and my blood pressure was a little better than the last time it was checked in a doctor's office. Was glad to see that, too.
I'm on a little stay-cation for the most part. Running away for 24 hours, but otherwise I'm busy at home.
Took my car for an oil change today and left with 4 new tires, but they really needed it. I just hadn't been paying attention. SIGH. The highlight of my day was getting a pedi. I don't very often do that, but I did today. Just something about pretty toenails that lift my spirits, LOL.
Thanks for listening...Going to go finish my chores now.View Thread

My schedule had to change due to work. Apparently when you're a salary employee, which I am, you don't get breaks but an hour for lunch. Well I can't do my walk/running using those breaks any more unless I take it off my lunch break. I don't want to do that because I still want to go to the gym during lunch. Also there have been some problems on the school bus with my children to where they don't need to be riding the bus. They both go to school 10 miles in separate directions. I am now getting up at 4am so I can talk my run or walk because I don't want to give it up. Also so I can leave the house by 6:50am in order to get the kids to school on time. The evenings are too crazy for me do my exercise then and my legs probably couldn't handle an end of the day work out. I was just letting you guys know that I don't give up and to put some inspiration out there for you.View Thread

I finally have my depression under control though the help of medication. Also, my sleep is much more regulated now. Yay!
Lastly, tomorrow is my last day of classes. By this time next week, I will be OFFICIALLY done with college. Woo hoo!
And so onward I go. I had a physical at my new doctor's office last week and went and got blood drawn today. So I suppose that I will find out those results in a week or two.
So as of last Tuesday, my starting weight is 198. I am 5 foot 6 inches. My goal weight is somewhere in the 130-150 range. I'll see more of where I want to be when I get closer to it.View Thread

What kind of toaster oven do you have , I did some shopping online but some of them have negative feedback so I was wondering what would be the best brand to purchase . I really think a back up is a good theing to have.
