My Story:
My name is Sheryl. I have been overweight/obese all of my life. I used to be teased for it mercilessly. As an adult, I thought that I'd surrounded myself with good enough friends that I would never have to hear that kind of thing again. I was wrong. I suppose I was in a lot of denial too. Which never helps. I always kind of thought that being 5'11" helped me carry the 275 pounds that I was at. Wrong again!!! It took one of those so-called "friends" that I over-heard making fun of my size to open my eyes (after I quit crying that is).

I decided in the end of June, 2008, that I was not going to be the fat girl anymore. That no one would have a reason to make fun of me again (at least not for my wieght). And a wonderful thing happened on the way. I found that as I lost weight, I got healthier too. I am now right at 159 pounds. Now my husband whines that I'm too small. Not having the support at home that I craved, this exchange has been a wonderful place to celebrate my success, vent my frustrations, and just talk about anything and everything with the wonderful people that are on the same journey that I am.
