I have also looked at BMI & the healthy weight range. Mine is from 115 to 155 which is likewise a big span. So I considered what weight was I most comfortable in my earlier years. I set that goal to be 145 and then began my trek.
I feel, for me, it has been harder to lose weight as I come nearer to my goal. I know that you don't burn as many calories as you lose weight, doing the same exercises that would blast "em earlier. So, my journey has slowed some. I also see the effects of weight loss on my body & skin. In losing weight slowly, as I have done, I feel all of the strengthous exercising has helped to strengthen my muscles & allow my skin to catch up. Though, whatever your loss you may find some lose skin and that has played a large role in determining my goal. So as I hit the 100 pound target, I was so motivated, I felt I could easily go on to reach a weight of 125, which is what I weighed when I was in my 30's. But did I want to....now? I was in the 140s when I was in my 40s, and 150's when I was in my 50's. Then I had a large "expansion" project going on inside my body & went to numbers that I mentioned earlier. I share this because you have to look at your history and literallly weigh the variables and when you felt your personal BEST! I have, I think, come upon the number of 155 (about 13 pounds away). I did this as 155 is the top range of "HEALTHY"! I have gone past OBESE (actually MORBIDLY OBESE) & am now at OVERWEIGHT. It is such a motivator now to work to get below the "Overweight" range. I could possible reach 155 & want to go lower. But that is a choice I relish for when I get there.
I feel my goal has always been to be healthy, feel healthy and LOOK healthy. I absolutely know I fit all of those, NOW.
I feel and think whatever I do now, is a choice I am so superbly pleased that I have the option to make. The decisions will come to you also. You may set goals and reset them. I too feel 150 is a great number. Just bask in the glow of health and you will know when you are there!View Thread

I believe that "you" setting reasonable and livable limits on "yourself" is what has brought you to where you are today....flourishing in health and happiness. The ice cream treat was a perfect opportunity to let others in your life continue to see those limits in action. Setting the limits for what you will allow in your life is all part of our growth process. It is something that I work on every day, as I near 100 pounds lost. It sounds trite to say that unless you respect yourself, others will not see the need to do so. You passed his test. A high FIVE to you and keep up the GREAT job!View Thread
