Today is Tuesday Tips Day where we can all share our best solutions or workarounds for certain dieting challenges. This week our topic is Claiming Your Life Back.
What was your life's changing point that made you really decide in your heart that you were going to get your weight under control? Was it something critical in your health? A longing to be active with your kids? Fear of what the side effects would be?
Share how YOU made your decision to get started on your weight loss journey and claim your life and health back again. If you just read this and you've now decided to make the change, share with us!
We want to hear your best tips on how you got started, your determination to be successful, or what's holding you back and why.View Thread
Our WebMD communities are a wonderful place where members find friendship, support, insight and share ideas. However, there are occasions when a post that is made violates WebMD's Terms and Conditions . We rely on our members to help WebMD maintain a safe and comfortable environment where everyone feels at home.
Please know that no other member will know that you've made a report, nor does reporting a post automatically mean it will be removed.
Here are the kinds of posts about which we're concerned:
Personal Attacks (disagreement is NOT an attack)
Inappropriate Member Nicknames
Use of inappropriate slang and/or masked/veiled profanity
Members discussing their personal physicians by name
Members who identify themselves as under 13 year of age
Too much personally identifying information (phone numbers, home addresses, etc)
Posts containing links to inappropriate sites (pornography, etc.)
Posts which are nothing more than erotica or soliciting cyber sex.
Someone planning suicide and needs our help
The best way to handle any such post on our communities is to not reply (other than when someone is in crisis). Instead, you can help your community by alerting the WebMD Community Moderator staff via the "Report This" link found below each post. You even have the opportunity to explain why you are reporting something.
The moderator staff will receive that report and will review the post to determine whether or not it violates the WebMD Terms and Conditions or if the person needs crisis intervention. If the message is in violation of our rules, it will be removed along with any replies.
Please keep in mind that you should only report posts that you feel are violations of WebMD's Terms and Condition or needs a moderator's crisis intervention. Do not report posts simply because you disagree with the information contained within another member's post.
Thank you for helping to keep our WebMD communities on track. It really does "take a village," and we appreciate everyone who helps us to keep our communities a great place to gather together in our quest to stay happy and healthy.
It's a new week, so it's time to check in! How is everyone doing with their diet, weight loss and/or measurements? Do a quick mental check on how you feel you did this week and leave a note here. We'll do the same & be here to support each other through the good & the bad.
What's your Mini-Goal this week? Keep it something that is challenging yet achievable. We need those little victories to stay strong! If you'd like to keep track of your stats, you can copy/paste this format and share in your reply. But, you don't have to! Just share your mini-goals if you like!

Great job, Jenn! Did you know that Dreyers makes a GSC Samoa ice cream? OMG...I had to try it! But, I did good and only put a little bit in a coffee cup instead of a bowl. Took my time eating it and enjoying every last drop. I got my little fix and then my kids devoured the rest in minutes so the temptation was removed! Because sometimes...if it's in within reach I give in.View Thread
You are so creative, Judy. I love it! Easy way to remember your fruits and veggies. Heck, we might even be able to convince our kids or grandkids to eat veggies if we tell them they need to eat their daily rainbow! View Thread
I failed my mini-goals last week, too. It seems I keep making excuses for myself NOT to stick with it. My daughter's birthdays, not feeling well, TOM, or whatever I can grasp!
I think I'm finally past my naughty phase (as far as eating anyway) because now when I think about eating junk food it makes me feel sick to my stomach. I miss feeling like I'm taking good care of myself and watching the scale go down!
So, it's back to eating right next week! My daughter's birthday party (she's 17) is tomorrow night (yeah, I know...more excuses) so I'm not going to try and resist all the goodies until after that. But, just watch me go starting on Monday!
Good luck!! I miss talking about our beloved football teams with you!View Thread
