My baby, Zoey, is a pretty mottled tortiseshell, gray and gold in color. She is 7 years old. I've had her for 6 years. I'll post a pic of her when I can.
When I got her, she was front declawed, but not spayed. My co-worker's (at the time) neighbor had abandoned her after his girlfriend left him (Zoey was the girlfriend's cat). My co-worker knew I was looking to get a cat and begged me to come see Zoey. I fell in love with her immediately and took her home.
Zoey has repaid me and my twin with deep purrs, a raspy tounge to give kisses and a cute personality. I love that cat dearly....View Thread

Earlier in the week, after my pasta explosion, I gained and was back to 300. I'm currently 299. So overall I gained 1 lb this week, not good, but not as bad as I feared.
Got my food stamps and went shopping. Bought healthy snacks and will make sure I bring them with me when I go back to my sister's tonight. I'll be staying there until Thursday and then possibly Friday and Saturday. Since her possible CSF leak, she's been pretty freaked out, and her head and eye has been hurting terribly, getting worse everyday. She managed to get in to see the neurologist Tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get some answers.
My twin sis bought me a am/fm radio on an armband and some nifty earphones that sit over the ear, so now I'm looking forward to start walking so I can use it.
Gotta make some coffee and breakfast. Thanks for all your support, gals.

I was thinking, if I could have a mantra, something to repeat to myself when I feel tempted, I think it will help. At least its worth a shot. I've always like the line from "The Help" where Abileen says to Mae Mobely "You is kind. You is smart. You is important."
Maybe you gals could help me think of one? Something simple and catchy like "I am beautiful. I am important. I am in control."
Kinda like that one, actually.

I think I've been having trouble because of several things. My sister has been sick for a month, and thinks she might have a cerebral spinal fluid leak. So I've been helping her out a lot with her kids, who are darlings, but things can get a little stressful with them. And she doesn't have a ton of healthy food here, so I'm exposed to and eating more bad foods than I would be at home.
My depression has been worse the last week or so, and I feel tired all the time. I just found out I'm vitamin D defecient, which may be playing a role in my low mood and lethargy. Not to mention its my time of the month.
On another note, I joined the back pain forum here on webmd, which has been very encouraging.View Thread

Debbie- I actually have a book I read called "Eating For Life". The author talks about that, balancing every meal/snack with a complex carb and lean protein together. When I do that, it really does help my blood glucose level stay steady.
I think I will read the book again and use some of its recipes again. It is a really good book, my primary care doc I had at the time suggested it.
Last night I blew it. Went to Pasta House with my aunt. It was weird, I didn't even care about what I ate, went for what was yummy, full of fat and everything.
Well, I've paid for this past week of slipping, I'm back to 300.
Another thing. Its psychological, I believe, but I hate the feeling of not being full. If food is available, I want to eat until I'm full or at least satisfied and will eat every time my stomach empties a little and I have a little more room. I get panicked when I'm hungry, and want to prevent that by doing this. I think it has to due with a fear of my blood glucose dropping, but I'm not sure. Its ok right after I wake as long as I eat within one and a half to two hours of waking. Any suggestions on working around this?View Thread
