Welcome! Like you, i have a bad knee and a bad hip and they will most likely feel much better if some pounds are taken off. But i have not even been on this chat/support group for a week and feel much better and more motivated about losing the pounds that i want/need. I believe that the people that also post on these boards are here to help each other. So i hope being on here helps, even if all you need is support.
So, today i have set a couple of goals and i think that if i let everyone know of the goals, i will be more motivated to do them
Here it goes. -I am going to stop drinking soda. This should be easy just because i like water and juice much better. -I am going to stop snacking at my desk, i think that this my biggest down fall and that is were i eat the most sugar and empty calories. -I am also going to start going on morning walks. With summer just around the corner, my hips should not be bothered by the bad weather
And some other great new, i did have a physical yesterday and everything looks good and healthy, just waiting on my labs.
Also, i would just like to thank everyone on here in advanced. I have looked through and read some previous posts, and i am fairly sure that you all are great and supportive people, and i will make sure that i do my share of supporting!
That is a very beautiful road! My favorite place to walk by my house is a river that has miles of trails along the sides, which is really nice, because i live in a pretty major city with not many exluded places to walk. I should take a picture some timeView Thread
In the last week i have decided that i am done being over weight and that it is time to do something about it and i figure i should start with a bit of support and i heard that this was a great place for the support that i need. I am about 70 pounds over weight at 190 lbs. That might not sound like alot, but i am only 5'1" I dont even completely want to lose all of the extra pounds, i just want to be able to fit into a size 5-6 pants. I know that is an long shot from a pant size 16-17, but i want to work to it. The reason it is so hard for my to be big now, is because prior to hip surgeries 5 years ago when i was only 17, i was thin and healthy. Since the long term, one year, of bed rest and not being active since, the pounds have stayed on. I hope to get a gym membership next week, but i need tips on staying motivated. That is my biggest down fall. Here goes nothing!! => -ShayView Thread
