In short, can the constipation be causing some immune system problems? Or could it be some form of hernia?View Thread
My eating habits probably consist of cereal or a bagel, muffin and milk in the morning. Sometimes, my stomach feels so bad that that's enough food for the entire day. Other times I eat a sandwich or chicken soup with wild rice.
I've gotten various allergy blood tests done (gluten, lactose, etc) & I've been tested for Celiac's, stomach ulcers, gallbladder issues, parasites and various colon problems but everything comes back negative.
I've been to a gastroenterologist but they can't find any problems either.
My doctor also ruled out IBS because of my stomachs reaction to greasy/fried foods.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?View Thread
colitis. He also has diverticulosis, and acid reflux. I need a diet that is compatible for all three of these disorders. I'm not sure where to turn as one diet says low fiber another high fiber another says something else.
Appreciate any help or comments.
Can colitis be managed with just diet and no meds?

Almost every day I have extreme nausea, I also get cramping. I am always either really constipated or have really bad diarrhea. I never have normal bowels. My biggest complaint is the extreme nausea all of the time. I take Phenagan for the nausea.
I have emetophobia, and anxiety disorder. ( I take klonopin as needed)
Does anyone have ideas on what could be wrong wtih me? I just need to know what to ask the doctor about. He thinks IBS but IBS does not cause nausea, and that is my largest complaint.
by the way I am not pregnant. Ideas please? and ty!View Thread
Take the Poll
1) If I eat breakfast in the morning and have a busy day and dont get to eat lunch until late afternoon I feel incredibly nauseous and my body quickly begins to shut down. It happens so fast and I get really tired and cant talk very much and its hard to keep my eyes open. Last time this happened, when I had a few bites of chicken it was like I had come to life again and felt 100 times better
2) Sometimes during when I eat and also after I feel really sick and feel like I'm going to throw up. I will cough a lot really hard and then my body feels like it wants to throw up but I never do. Then I feel really sick for a while and have to sit until I feel better. I eat small portions and feel that I am fairly healthy. This happens more often when I eat out then when I am at home but happens at both locations.
Any advice? Thanks

So, I'm now on Bentyl (just started today) and OFF caffeine. I know there are other changes I can make, but I want to take it slow and see what works.
Any words of wisdom, etc., for someone newly diagnosed? I'm frustrated with this diagnosis, since it seems there's no easy path to relief...
Thanks!

I'm negative on Chron's, colitis, parasites, and all food allergies. I don't have IBS, and it doesn't make much difference what I eat. I usually eat very healthy food just to keep up overall health. But when I do eat junk food I actually feel better because I feel constipated up in my bowels instead of having waste in my rectum.
Like I said I eat very healthy. Fiber1 with cranberries and skim milk for breakfast. No lunch. Chicken or turkey with vegetables for dinner. I take probiotics and multivitamins daily, am not overweight, jog four days a week, have never been outside the US, am straight and never have any kind of anal sex. I'm mostly very healthy.
I've seen people talk about similar problems on this site and others, but nobody has been able to give any information about what causes it or what to do about it.
I can't get help from doctors. All they say is I'm negative on the problems I listed and they tell me its just because I have high stress. I'm stressed because I'm sick, not sick because I'm stressed! Its not even stress related. Sometimes when I have high stress I feel better, and sometimes when I'm relaxing I feel worse.
Its gotten so bad I think I might want a colostomy just to not spend 3 hours a day in the bathroom and constantly worry about how I smell. Some people say you still smell with a colostomy, and other people say you don't. Can somebody please set the record straight? Can you live an ok life with a bag? Cause I'm not living now. Or if anyone has any solution better than major surgery, please help. I just turned 26 and I've been sick since I was 22. I can't take much more of this.

In spite of everything I take & do, I still get constipated, usually small ball like stools, altho sometimes I have regular ones. The problem is this: Usually after a BM, I get totally EXHAUSTED. I can't think straight, focus, concentrate, or accomplish Anything. At that point, if I lie down for 1-3 hours, I wake up feeling more normal & then I'm able to carry on as usual again. Then I do have the ability to plan, focus, do what I need to do.
Does anyone else get this extreme lack of energy?? I wonder what causes it. My Dr didn't really have any suggestions.View Thread
I take Zofran when the nausea is bad, but decided to try Pepto chewable tablets day before yesterday--just two.
Yesterday and today my stool is 'black'. I know it can do that but thought it would go away today or is it going to be that way with having taken just the two tablets?
I'm concerned it might be the blood thinner since the nausea has been intense and makes me miserable--could it be bleeding going on?
My doctor, due to my reported nausea is changing my blood thinner and I start it tonight--but when I called him the black stool had not occurred.
Should I not worry as it may take a few days for the stool to get back to 'normal'? thanksView Thread
Are/were you expierencing things similar? If so, I am curious how or what causes this, or any input for that matter would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.View Thread
I went to the local urgent care to which they gave me zofran (anti nausea) and pregnancy test and sent me home. I wasn't pregnant by the way.
Thursday still no better but tough it out only to wake up friday with even more pain and not being able to keep anything down including the zofran.
I went back to the urgent care where they ran blood test and a upper GI xray. Finding nothing they again sent me home with a script for another kind of zofran. Saturday same story different day vomiting, stomach pain and nausea. This time I went to the ER, they put me on an IV and did blood samples and a CT scan and found nothing. The ER doctor seemed to it could be an ulcer but she didn't see it. I have been taking omeprazole, which they scripted for me. While over all Im feeling better after starting on the I still have harsh stomach pain that wake me up between 6 and 7 am and I cant go back to sleep. Also still have diarrhea.
Drugs Im taking:omeprazolepepto bismalzofran tumsranitidineView Thread
