Changes in quality-of-life impairment, anxiety, and psychological distress were not significantly different after the eight-week period. But all were much improved at the three-month follow-up in the meditation group.
Have you ever tried meditation to ease your pain or IBS symptoms? How long did you stick with it, and did you notice a change?View Thread

Welcome to the Digestive Disorders community. CalGal is right...we haven't had a Health Expert on the community for some time.
However, we do have a very helpful community that all try to help by sharing their experiences. The Community Moderator can also point you to some helpful WebMD resources.
I hope you post a new question for the community and find how helpful everyone is.

Welcome to the Digestive Disorders community. Sorry to hear you're having such a time with stomach cramps.
If you haven't already seen your doctor, I would encourage you to do so. Any time symptoms last more than a week we should be calling our doctors to find out why.
Have you ever tried taking probiotics? Some studies show that probiotics can speed recovery from infectious diarrhea and ease ulcerative colitis symptoms.
Try our Symptom Checker and also think about startng a food diary to see if you have foods that might trigger your symptoms. Is it really everything you eat or does it just seem like it? This will tell you.
Let us know how you're doing!

Sorry to hear about the digestive conditions you've been dealing with.
According to WebMD, there isn't one test that can tell you whether or not you have Crohn's disease . And Crohn's disease has many possible symptoms that are the same as symptoms for other health problems. So, to make a diagnosis of Crohn's disease, your doctor is likely to gather information from multiple sources.
You might check out this post on Free & Low Cost Healthcare for some ideas on how to find help with testing. Hopefully, our community will be chiming in soon with their suggestions, too.

No one can really be diagnosed over the internet and it is also WebMD poilcy that we not give a diagnosis, but you might want to use the WebMD symptom checker to help you narrow things down for yourself.
Another thing you might want to do is to start a food diary and see if you have foods that might trigger your symptoms. Is it really everything you eat or does it just seem like it? This will tell you.
WebMD understands that reading individual, real-life experiences can be a helpful resource, but it is never a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified health care provider. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or dial 911 immediately.
I'm sure our community will be chiming in soon, too! Good luck and please keep us posted.

Though gas and bloating can be painful, they are normal conditions that often occur during digestion.
Certain foods and beverages may cause you to experience these more than others. Medical conditions such as lactose intolerance and medications may also cause gas and bloating. Besides adjusting your diet, some medications may also help treat gas and bloating.
Check out these resources on Sensitive Stomachs: Gas Control , The Digestive System & Gas , or Gas, Bloating & Burping Home Treatment .
I hope that helps. Please let us know how you're doing and if you have more questions.

Welcome to the Digestive Disorders Community. Sorry to hear you've been having stomach problems for so long. I hope we can offer some resources to help.
I'm wondering if it was a doctor who told you that you were not digesting your food and needed to walk it off. I would encourage you to seek a second opinion.
Have you been checked for Crohn's Disease or Inflammatory Bowel Disease , or Celiac Disease ?
