I recently posted on this site. It is titled,"Open for Suggestions". I am new to this and very anxious so if you have or know anything more than myself about IBS, PLEASE take to time to read that post! It was kind of long so I'm trying under just IBS! Maybe someone will find me!
Thank You and God Bless Us All!View Thread

I guess what I believe is that IBS is a name that the doctors give to a digestive order that they have no idea what it is and either don't believe you or really DO NOT care.
I have even now been told to sit on the toilet every morning for 20 minutes. Do not push just sit. This is supposed to help me retrain my bowel movements. I'm following orders, but...........I'm doubtful!
I am 44 and have been a go once a week person since 12. After 6 surgeries (c-sections, hystorectomy(ies) and an accidental cutting open of my bowels, which lead to part of my intestines being removed, I CAN NOT GO! I am supposed to weigh 104, I weigh 154, lost ALL musles and look like I am (literally) 10 months pregnant. I gained all the weight in 2 months. I have lost 20 pounds already, but no more will come off and I am so big that, with the pain, I can not where any clothing hardly.
I am open for any home remedies, suggestions any anything right now! PLEASE HELP!
I have seen numerous doctors. I am scared!View Thread

I was at the GI office yesterday. I am supposed to increase my fiber (stops me up more), sit on the toilet at the same time 20 minutes every day for the next 4 weeks(no pushing) to mentally train my intestines to work . They have not worked right in 36 years and have basically quit working even with the help of laxatives. I am following doctors orders, but like I said, I have not used the restroom in THREE (3) WEEKS, I am in tears the pain is so severe.
I look 10 months pregnant have gain 70 lbs. lost 20, and I have IBS?! The doctors give you that diagnosis because they are clueless also.
Go to your ER, Tell Them You don't want pain meds and to be discharged, you need an answer. MRI you spine, your brain, as well as your abdomen. Tell them to even look for worms (larve) that is something that is a lot more common, goes undiagnosed because it can be VERY hard to find. I passed a whole lot of very long worms(took them to GI lab). They told me it was NORMAL! Never once have they run necessary test because it wasn't found in my stool culture. it wont be there unless they are dead. My 8 year old son went through it also and they still have not deemed it medically necessary to do anything. So start back with the ER and stay on them go back everyday untill someone listens to you. If you get an answer let me know and I will do the same for you!View Thread

Your scenario sounds almost like one of my sons though. He has more diarrhea though. They do have an over the counter product called "Digestive Health" that has been a blessing for him. There is 4- different ones for different causes. You should try that and\or probiotics with lots of water. I think it would help you a lot.
Good luck and I hope you get better soon! God Bless!View Thread
