I have been prescribed Omeprazole 20mg, once daily, after having been scoped for swallowing difficulty. Need I take prescription Omeprazole, or is "delayed release" OTC the same? Oddly, the OTC pkg says "Warnings ...Do not use if you have trouble or pain swallowing food, . . " Isn't that one of its primary uses? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to say "While this product can alleviate difficulty in swallowing, this symptom could indicate a more serious condition. You should seek a doctor's advice to confirm the absence of a more serious condition."View Thread
