What seemed to lower the intensity of my pain was getting a prescription of desipramine - an anti-depressant. The desipramine seemed to "calm" things down quite a bit. Although I still have constant discomfort below my left rib cage, it's far more tolerable and much less intense. I noticed a change within 7 days of taking desipramine.View Thread

Try removing gluten and/or lactose from your diet for a while to see if that helps. We're all searching for answers here, but it could be that you have a sensitivy to gluten or lactose.

However, I started a gluten-free and lactose-free diet and the pain has slowed down drastically. It's almost gone. Prevacid will only help your acid reflux symptoms and wouldn't help with issues like pancreatitus. Your primary doc could do some basic bloodwork to check kidney, liver, pancreas. I'd suggest that you see your primary care doc to get some of those things eliminated prior to your endoscopy
That said, I know you're worried. I'm the worst at assuming the worst, so I'm in your shoes. Stress can actually create some of the symtoms you're having, so do your best to keep even until the docs do their magic. Good luck to you!View Thread

Good luck - stay positive!View Thread

The pain doesn't seem to worsen or change with food - it starts shortly after I wake up and generally is on and off all day, with the worse pain in the evenings as I "settle in" to TV. Lying down seems to aggravate the pain because of the, ahem, excess weight I carry, so watching TV in bed usually irritates the upper/left ab pain. It gets sensitive to the touch - even a hug irritates it and I can no longer sleep on my left side.
Basic bloodwork showed normal kidney, pancreas, liver function.
I've started a gluten free diet and I will likely also remove dairy to see if I've got some sort of food allergy. I'm going to stop taking Omeprazole and I'm currently taking probiotics.
Keep in mind that this pain started shortly after my gallbladder attack, so that seemed to be the trigger.
Anyone else having the same issue?View Thread

I would suggest sticking to a low-fat diet and attempt to weed out possible allergies to lactose and/or gluten.View Thread
