I also had a previous colonoscopy with no problems, but I had one in January that caused extreme pain and constipation. I went back to the gastroenterologist and he told me to keep my bowels moving (take laxatives) and find a surgeon. I ended up going to the ER because of the pain and they discovered my colon had been puncured and there was a fistula with bacteria going to my pancreas. I spent 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital on intravenous antibiotics, but luckily didn't end up with surgery. My bowels are back to normal now, but you should go back to the doctor immediately or go to the ER. You should not have pain, and shouldn't have to not eat either. Seriously, do not delay. You also could have sustained a punctured colon and it won't heal by itself.View Thread
