Hi. I had the surgery in 1977 at age 28. I am now 64. I had liver failure at the onslaught. No other serious complications since then. I am truly blessed. I would love to find a support group of others who had this surgery. I would love to find out which foods work for you now. I found that very low carbohydrate keeps down the gas. Amazing. I have not been able to take any antibiotics by mouth since 1977 as it swells me so tightly that I fear I will burst. Incredibly painful. I had a bad tooth 10 years ago and had Rocephin by injection for 5 days to get rid of the tooth infection. I praise God I Am healthy after all these years. Maintain my weight at 155...but still need to diet because I can gain weight now.View Thread
