so in essence the more they find the higher the stage.. stage 4 is like the highest class.
i am stage 4 which was decided at my last surgery i had adhesions on my bowel bladder interstines. about 7 cysts and 2 endometriomas. my ovaries were fused to other organs as well as part of my intestine was pulled up and fused into my culdesac area.
the stages don't run off the amount of pain you are i. some women can have 1 small adhesion and be in debilitating pain and some can be riddled with it and enver even know.View Thread

I'm definitely grateful for my husband and son! I am also grateful for my car
my husband and I used to share a car for several years and finally last year we got another car so I could have mine all to myself!View Thread
first of all you should not have been on lupron that long. 3 months at a time is best 6 months at the most.
i just want to make sure your doctor has been doing bone density scans and all that stuff.
since you are single are you going to do donor sperm?
you will need to be off lupron for a while and re-regulate your period before you can move on to getting pg.
are the fibroids bad? could surgery wait?
sorry for the questions but it is best to try to get pg right after you heal and are "all cleaned out" so that is the only reason i would suggest to wait for surgery but only if it is a possibility.View Thread
i know because there was another woman no here a while back that it happened to and they had to put her on a 1 or 2 week hormone only RX to thicken it up some.
but as i always say if you are concerned beyond normal call your doctor. it can't hurt to ask.View Thread

we opted to try IUI's first at least. they were not succesful due to fertility issues on both sides but we figured we would rather try a couple time at a couple hundred bucks a pop versus 1 time at 10-15 grand a pop.
but if you want to try there are many places that offer financing programs for IVF and it sounds strange but deals where if you fertilize multiple eggs they will freeze the extra and if the first time doesn't work they only charge for the doctor fees instead of all the meds and everthing else after that.
i got pg on lupron but our plan after 4 IUI's was to do ivf after my lupron and lap
but it is up to you.. some people like us at least give it a shot. i know one girl on here did get pg with an IUI but lost it because she had a split uterus.View Thread
as long as they are checking you to make sure you do not have or develope anemia pain killers is about the most help they will give.
has your doc. mentioned starting you on birth control to help.
that is another way to help control and regulate you back out since it throws everything off.View Thread
i know exactly how you feel. my very first surgery at 25 yrs old they removed half my right ovary because of a large endometrioma. however they were thinking they would have to remove the whole thing my next surgery and i was stressed just like you but i made it very very very clear that i did not want it removed unless absolutely positivly necessary.
also it help to go to a reproductive endocronologist because their main priority is fertility. they will be the ones who try the hardest"in my experience" to help. especially at your age.
and don' let endo scare you with babies it is not a ""NO BABY" stamp. i was told that my husband and myself would not have kids because i was sever stage IV endo with fused organs uincluding my ovaries and my son is 4 months old now. it took awhile as you can see i am 28 now but it happens and their are 3 other girls that were on this board that are expecting and week now..and alot who already have children.
as far as the lupron i would say check all other options first. birth control and things of that nature.
i did 2 rounds before i found out i was pg and it wasn't tooo bad. it wasn't a walk in the park and i did better than a few other women who went on it but we always suggest it as a last resort. and you can ask your doctor if you do go on it about addback therapy for the depression and mood swings. it is def not a stand alone drug.
sorry for the book if you have any other questions please feel free to ask. and my email addy is in my bio if there is something you want to ask off site. i will be more than happy to helpView Thread
i was diagnosed 2009 but suspect i had it from the beginning i just thought it was "normal" .. but i have always had the worst back pain.
it is constant but much worse around AF time. the only thing i have found that helps is warm baths and the heat patchjes that you can stick in a specific area slapped right on the lower back.
i did go to a chiropractor for a while and although it did help it was very inconvenient to go twice a week every week.
i also suggest if you can to get a professional massage maybe a few days before you know AF is coming to lossen some of the tension.View Thread
eventhough she is not sexually active or planning on having children any time soon i always suggest going to see a reproductie endocronologist only because alot of "women issues" are linked to infertility so they have the most up to date knowledge on what could be wrong and are more concerned with "preservatyion" for the future and fixing the issue no matter how it affects your insurance.
i know the whole "pre-existing condition" thing can suck but i and am sure you are more worried about helping her now. it is hard to function like that and based off the symptoms you listed it is not something i would just brush off as the doc. seems to want to.
and if there is a history of endo the there is a better chance of her having it. not saying she does just an increased chance.
but please remember there is no way to diagnose endo other than a lap so treating it withuot one wouldn't make sense.View Thread
you may have been one of the lucky ones that did not have any further issues but i have spoken to dozens who were not so lucky. it may not have been right away it could be years but it can return and you think its hard getting them to diagnose before. it is even harder when you have had a hysto to get a doctor to believe you after.
same as when your pregnant. it can "go away" during pg and maybe for a while after but that does not mean it won't returnView Thread
i am similar in i will be 29 this year with severe stage 4. they said if they could diagnose higher then they would ha.. it was all over and it took me 6 years to have my son which was a random blessing.
like i said no one will fight for us so the more people that know the better..luckily i am a loud mouth ha ha but i never feel like thats enough.
i want to tey to initiate something next year for awareness month. but for now talking as you know always helpsView Thread
i am sorry you are not feeling well..
i had the same pain on my right side but it turned out to be a cyst from pcos which then led them to look further because it occured so often and they found the endo.
my periods were always painful and heavy but i always thought it was normal because that is just how it always was and since everyone complained about periods and cramps i figured"hey they must have the same issues" not so much.
unfortunately having surgery is just a choice you will have to make on your own. but there is no other way to diagnose endo without it.
i will not minimize it because all surgery can come with complications but in general an explaroatory lap takes a couple hours and has a down time of maybe a week or two depending on how it goes. if you look in the tips area there is a coulpe ones on what to expect before and after a lap.
i dont think i helped much ha ha but if you have any other questions feel free to ask.View Thread
i am a complete pregnancy optomist.. i tried for 6 years and managed to get pg by surprise with both my tubes fused to other organs... do not give up hope but like carrie said you are more than welcome here this board is not just for endo as most of us have multiple female issues but from experience the TTC boards on here are wonderfulif you try the ones for women who have been trying awile like the TTC 12 months they usually have alot more insight than the new ones where the women get pg right away without issues.
if you have any other questions let me know.
i have tried almost all ways lol..View Thread
it is REALLY important to feel comfortable with your dr and be able to trust him/her. I don't know how familiar you are with endo, but when AF doesn't all go out the right way, but ends up outside of your uterus, it acts as a kind of adhesive, gluing all of your internal organs together. I had problems with a very similar pain before my lap, and it, for me, was endo's fault. My endo had glued my ovaries to my uterus AND abdomino-pelvic wall. the lap REALLY helped me with the pain, it went from about an 8 or 9 down to about a 2 for the most part. It was GREAT! Good luck and keep us posted!View Thread
In the meantime I would take ibuprofen for the pain if you are able to and use heating pads or take hot baths to help relax those muscles and ease the discomfort you are feeling. Also google diets for endo. I haven't tried one myself but have heard many other women finding success with changing their diet. I know I get lots of bowel pain and IBS issues due to endo so cutting out some foods or eating less of certain foods like dairy has helped me a little.

Try different prenatals to find one more gentle on your stomach and take it when you are eating a good sized meal to help digest it better.
Looking forward to your updates
