I am fishing for ideas here. My hubby and I are thinking that I have some sort of tolerance to the hormones in the different birth control pills. Here's all the different ones I have tried.
Ortho tri cyclen
ortho tri cyclen lo
Depra Prevera ( the shot)
Ovcon 34
Loestrin 24
I know it's not a huge list like some of you. My side effects and pains amplify while I am any of them. My doctor told me to stop the Loestrin 24 for 7 days because I have been bleeding/spotting for 21. I have been off of them 3 days and I feel so much better besides the heavy bleeding that decided to start.
Has anyone been told their body has a tolerance to the hormones and what did you do? I am thinking about not returning to the pill. I am scheduled for a lap on April 13th and we are even thinking of no bcp after the surgery. I went 9 years without bcps and my pains and problems were no where near what they have been the last 9 months on all of these different bcps.
Ideas or opinions would be wonderful! I have 3 more days before I am to call the doctor back to give him the results of the 7 days of no bcps.View Thread

Anyways.. I am day 15 of whatever this spotting/period thing is and my have been more intense the last 2 days and even found some tissue and blood clots today. So I am gonna give the doctor a call and see what he thinks. Thanks again for your advice. It was very useful.View Thread

I know what you mean by expensive. It cost me $70 for one month. Not gonna be fun since I am to take it continuously. Thank god I am calling tomorrow to book my surgery. It's gonna be April 13th.
Now the count down begins. Can't wait to get some relief.View Thread

My first pack and very first pill brought on a severe headache for 3 days tops. Started making me sicking to my stomach and nauseous within hours. Plus side to it was my sex drive was back, arousal wasn't taking nearly as long, and my hot flashes went away. So now 4 months later and back to no sex drive, still feeling sick from the moment I take the pill and well now this the spotting. So I guess after all of this the pill isn't helping at all.
I am gonna call tomorrow and speak to the doctor and see what they can do. If surgery is mentioned yet again. I am gonna find me a new doctor who will actually help me.
Thanks ladies. I really apperciate the advice. Sorry to have disappeared for a few weeks. Being a restaurant manager and holiday season consumes all your time.View Thread
