I wish I had the energy (or time!) to exercise more. I bet we all do. Anything that's gentle enough to not make me hurt doesn't seem to have much of an effect.View Thread

I also feel that taking evening primrose oil makes a big difference. It is known to treat PMS but I feel that it does much more than that for me (since endo is not normal PMS). Along with helping prevent pain, it also reduces or eliminates spotting for me. You can get it at your local Walmart. The bottle I have says to take 1000 mg 3 times a day. I find that just once a day is usually enough. I believe it is also a mild blood thinner so I would stick with a low dose, and I also believe you're not supposed to take it during pregnancy.
I also wanted to share something interesting I've noticed. I think that alcohol seriously aggravates endo, at least for me. When I first started drinking in college, I noticed that my periods stopped or got lighter than I drank. I was naive and didn't question why at the time - I just thought it was awesome. A few years later, as my endo got worse, I noticed the opposite. I noticed that if I drank, I would bleed and be in more pain.
I looked into it and found research proving that alcohol raises estrogen levels - by as much as 3 times within 30 minutes of 1 drink.
These days, I can't even take a sip of beer without bleeding and hurting the next day, or for several days, so I don't at all. I wish I had caught on to the connection sooner because I wonder if drinking in college made things worse. So if you're having pain, try cutting out alcohol!
