I am sorry this is so long - but you'll see why.....
My DD had finally found a dr to do a laproscopy on her and she had stage 2-3 endo removed (she's 19 now - had it, i believe since around 10 when she started her period) any way- it was about 3-4 months ago. she stopped bleeding after and all then was put on a 3 month pill, she started bleeding again after about 1 1/2 months on that pill and clotted and bled on and off (mostly on) since - about 5 weeks now. It got worse when she started a physical job and was on her feet for 8 hr shifts (part time) The dr. did a blood test to see if she was anemic cuz she's just feeling run down loosing weight etc. they came back supposedly bad so they did another blood draw to make sure it wasn't a fluke. so that came back same - so now they are doing another blood test again to rule some things out? ! They are just not being real informative and making us upset! Today they finally told her something about 'acute bleeding'. Her EOSINOPHILS were supposed to be below 5.00 and hers were high at 11.08 and another one was 0.70 normal and hers - 1.01. she also had a high white blood count, and RDW was low.
Does anyone know anything about this to shed some light on it?? I was worried she may have a parasite /infection/acute lukemia(has ALL the symptoms of it). I don't know but they are ruling things out - don't know HOW - She has since given her 2 wk notice but fears going in B/C she doesn't want to bleed again she's been off for 4 days and has stopped bleeding for now. People are upsetting her about quitting and we want her to leave on a good note for future references. (she hasn't been working there real long just after her surgery was healed). I'm worried should I be? I had a hysterectomy B/C of endo. I would hate for her to have one so young.View Thread
My DD has had her period for 7 yrs. they have always been bad,(severe cramps, bleeding , clots) a couple months ago she complained her ovaries hurt the whole month after her period, then started having all the symptoms of being pregnant (she's not), like - hot flashes that got worse as the month went -moody- gained weight-nausea-breasts getting bigger- and just feeling lousy. well we went to the dr. and they did an ultrasound and found nothing wrong, ran tests, blood , urine etc. even hormone levels etc. - needless to say found nothing. this month she finally felt better leading up to her period , but is in a lot of pain again and has lots of clotting (mostly) the dr. threw it all up to mild endo. I have had endo (total hysterectomy now) for over 30 yrs. and never had 1 hot flash! any one else heard of this? she has seen the family drs. (women) and a man gyn over her problems and they all want her to go on the pill, which she has refused so far (but is re-thinking it) No one will do a endoscopy on her till she's older. The dr. even did a pelvic on her last mo. and my kid said it hurt so bad she couldnt go to school the next day and whimpered all night in pain , the dr said they only check for std's w? cultures and since she's NOT been sexually active she didn't do one. she didnt want to test her for any cancers (cuz it would be on her file) (for insurance purposes later! -???) but her fathers - mother and her sisters all died of ovarian cancer (his mom at 45yrs.) I guess I was just looking for other similar stories to help me figure out what to do next. she took 2 alieve and 2 tylenol this time for cramps - and it didnt help much at all , plus she puts ice packs on.View Thread
hi I too have a similar story. I had endo bad they took 1 ovary and my appendix and 'zapped' a spot on my liver and around my colon. I went on to have my second child, then had to have a total hysterectomy. I chose NOT to take hormones , but have to use vaginal cream not just to be able to have relations w/ my husband but to just be able to wipe without pain. no ovaries means your lining your left with will dry up and thin out unless you do something- I chose to do the logical thing i thought at the time that would lessen my chance of getting endo back.I feel endo free today. and am glad they took everything out ( no cancer scares with that part of me anyways) but I have also had more weight gain than i would like, it slowed my metabolism to a halt! so that is a big down side.I'm glad i had it done, the endo was pinching my colon off and i had to do something drastic. Now i may take the hormones, cant decide yet, scared to but need it for other reasons, like calcium and weight loss, hot flashes etc. I have not been able to take calcium b/c of gastritis, so i have problems from that. read allot about all your options. knowledge is power. I wouldn't have changed my mind on the surgery. but i sure wish i could on all my falls i had younger that gave me compressed disks and bone spurs in my neck! good luck and hang in there.View Thread
