I have experienced incremental, deep hearing loss on at least a few occasions, after an unusual sensation of congestion, especially in the right ear. Loss has not proved to be reversible. The sole diagnostic that seemed to aid interpretation was small traces of blood visible in an MRI. I am a type 2 diabetic, and have suspected long term out-of-balance blood sugar may contribute to. rupturing blood vessels in the inner ear. In addition I have used ED drugs in recent months, and since these work as vaso-dilators I believe they have exacerbated the loss. So, I surmise that leaking blood vessels are a root cause, and vaso-dilators and poorly controlled diabetes are primary risk factors.View Thread
