69581 Look at the next post "My husband has ed" I gave a responce there and it will apply to you two. I would like to repeat some of it. Ed can be caused by something else, HBP, heart problems Diabetes and the meds you take for them. Also over weight, smoking, illegal etc. If you don't have insurance may be you can go to a "free clinic" or ask a Dr. for a discount, many will give you one. At least get a phyical to see what what may be wrong. OliverView Thread
I've had HBP for years (under control with meds) then I had heart by pass surgery (2002) and then found I had diabeties (2003) With all this and the meds I take my penis would only puff up but not hard enough for penatration. I went from pills to vacuum erection pump to shots and then the penile pump. Its great wish I would have got it when ed started but you have to try out every thing else first. OliverView Thread
Did the Dr. try to find out the cause of your ED? Mine was caused from HBP, bypass surgery (4), diabetes and the pills I have to use for this. It can also be a mental problem, like the fear of not being able to preform. I tried Viagra for a couple of years and it worked off and on, mostly off. Remember with Viagra you still need to WANT to have an erection or it won't work. Next we tried the vacuum pump and it does give you a nice and sometimes a bigger that normal erection, but the rings you have to use to keep the erection are very incomfortable and hurt when you try to take them off. Next I tried the shots. Yes you give the shot in the penis. It isn't as bad as it sounds. It doesn't hurt any more that pulling a hair out. With the shots, under normal conditions you WILL get an erection, you can not stop it. But if for some reason they don't work there is the penial implant. Thats what I have. AND they work!! When you want to use it you just pump it up. Unlike pills, the pump or short you can leave it up for for hours, days, weeks or what ever. You can pump it up in 5 to 10 sec. and let it down in the same amount of time. You can go to colplast and look around in the Ed section for "straight talk" and look for inflation, defaltion and it has a vedio of 2 guys pumping and deflating thirs. You can go to yahoo groups and look for penialimplant and get a lot of infromation and ask questions if you want. You can also email me at w26b265 with any questions. OliverView Thread
I also have Diabetes and it can cause numbness in different areas of your body. It can also lead to nerve damage. Don't look at the person that comes into the room as a male or female but as a doctor. If the Dr has been around for a while they have most likely seen more peniss that you have. I had to have a penile exam and the new uro was a female. (didn't know this till she walked in the door) She was young, nice looking and easier to talk to over any other Dr. (all male) I've ever had. With that being said GET YOUR ASS DOWN TO HER BEFORE YOU LOOSE IT. If you can't sfeel it something is wrong. Diabetes can do some alfull thing to your body including death.View Thread
I'm assumeing that because of the angina your partner is using or may need to use Nitro. If Nitro is being use He can not use Viagra or other pills because it may down his blood pressure to low. Other options are a VED (vaccum erection device), shots and lastly a penile implant. You can Google any good ED site and it will have a section about treatments. OliverView Thread
Are you asking if an implant works. Yes it does, but it's not something you do just so you can be erect 24/7. You have to have ED and have gong through all of the treatments and possably some test (to make sure it physical not mental) be for they will even think about an implant. The surgery distroys the corpus spongiosum so unlike the pills, pump and shots there is no going back once you have it done. Can something go wrong? Yes it can just like any surgery and did with mine. I lost lenght even after the surgen said I wouldn't and also developed, I think a kink in one of the hoses. If you are interested in an implant go to the site I gave in my first post. Also when you get to the implant page at colplast go to the left side of the page and down the list of information and you will find inflat, deflate infromation. They have two vedios showing two people pumping up their implants. You can also Google "straight talk penile implant" (no quot marks) and it will also go to colpast. AMS is also a manufactor of implants. Hope this will help. OliverView Thread
$400. for an implant? It cost that much just to take you from the prep room to the OR. An implantable pump is usually call an implant or a penile implant. The vacuum pump is called either a VED or usually just a pump.
