Anyway....our GD is suppose to have a game and it is also picture day, but I am not sure that the game will be played. The rain has stopped and it does not always rain in surrounding little towns and cities so I guess I will call my son and see if indeed the game is on. It is suppose to shower off and on for several days now. My body *feels* the dampness too, which is not a good thing.
Here is hoping each of you had a good week and rested well. I hope today will be a good day for us all, with little to no pain.
Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group recently. I am sure that soon each of you will find what works for you. It does take time and effort....so hang in here with us and learn what others do that has worked for them. You should remember though that what works for one person may or may not work for you. It normally takes a *combination of Tools* which actually work. You just have to figure out just what the combination is. Everything is a process for us FMers....there are no quick fixes that I am aware of.
Vitamin D....be sure and ask your doctor about checking your level...which is important for a lot of people these days. Low Vitamin D does cause additional pain for some people and it can also affect other illnesses as well. It is important also to make sure that once you get your level back to within the normal range....that you keep it there. For whatever reason I am not sure that this happens for us FMers. Perhaps our bodies can not contain the *normal level* for whatever reason. But I know that I can tell when my level is not quite where it needs to be.
So much going on around the country. It is almost unreal just what takes place any more. And I think I have *issues*. I have to be thankful that mine are not as worse as they could be. I have to remind myself also that no more is given to me than I can handled....I just have to figure out how to cope with what I have. This too is a process.
I hope some of you can and will enjoy the sunshine, if you have it today. I will be waiting for the weather to clear up here.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it on this Saturday.

DH got the yard mowed and trimmed yesterday....which is a good thing....since it will be so damp this week-end.
Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group. I am sure that soon each of you will find something that will help you cope better. So hang in here and learn all you can about what others have found that has worked for them. It does take time and effort. Actually everything is a process in dealing with the wrath of the dragon. We have to also remember that what works for some may or may not work for you. Only you will know when you have found the right combination of *tools* that has made a difference for you.
Vitamins and supplements, plus other tools work for me. I use my heating pad a lot which sure helps my lower back....actually this is the only thing that eases this pain. Gentle stretches and exercises also is a plus. Movement of the body is also important and drinking plenty of water is also a must for me. Stopain Spray helps when the pain will not ease...at least for a short time anyway.
Vitamin D....again I remind everyone who has NOT done so yet....talk to your doctor about getting your Vitamin D level checked....which is important to a lot of people these days.
Low Vitamin D can cause additional pain for some of us and it can also affect other illnesses as well.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Here is hoping everyone will have a good....no or low pain weekend. Remember to pace, pace and pace even more.

Here is hoping each of you had a good night's rest and I hope today will be a good day for us all. I rested a lot yesterday since I was not feeling really up to par. I hope I can move more today since I know that it is really important for us FMers to keep moving.
Welcome to the new member who have joined our FM support group. I am sure that soon each of you will find something that will help you cope better with the wrath of the dragon, aka FM.
It does take a trial and error process to find what works best for each of us so hang in there and learn all you can about what helps others cope better. My *tools* are vitamins and supplements, plus other things. Heating pad is my best friend and Stopain Spray is also another good *tool*. A hot shower at night using lavender bath salts right before bedtime helps the body to relax so that I can sleep better. Getting enough sleep is so very important and the right kind of sleep, although we really have no choice in the kinds of sleep that we get unless we take some sort of sleep aid.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Have a good day and remember to pace, pace and pace even more.

Here is hoping everyone had a good night's rest and I hope today will be a good day for all of us with little to no pain. I do have some errands to run though so I guess I will have to get out whether I want to or not. Yesterday I had major problems again with my eye and allergies. DH did also so I guess it is just this time of year. I have had more issues this year than I had ever had and it has been the longest as well. I do hope this clears up soon.

Anyhow I am very glad to hear things went well for Mimi's daughter.
a bright spot in my day. If anyone wants to pray for me-- I'd be grateful, I'm just feeling really over done. Tomorrow should be better.
Counting on it. MaryView Thread
Thanks to everyone for thoughts and prayers. There is another court date scheduled for the first week in June. Hopefully someone will finally put a *rest* to all of this.
Here is hoping everyone had a good day with little to no pain.

My DD ended up and did not have court as the judge did not show up. So she had to go again this morning. I continue to hope and pray that things get straightened out soon. I think her attorneys got a bird's eye view of just what she is up against. The man tried to get the bailiff to arrest her in court. OMG....I really have no idea what is wrong with people these days.
Here is hoping everyone had a good night's rest and I hope today will be a good day for us all.
Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group. I noticed yesterday was a very slow day. I hope this mean that everyone is feeling better and out and about doing other things. We normally have more traffic during the week than on week-ends.
For the new members I hope that each of you will check out the info under *tips* and *resources* and I hope you will also review the *member toolbox* which has some good *tools* that you might have not thought of trying. I also hope that when you find anything that helps you cope better that you will share this info with the FMily. This is why we are here to offer our support and to share things that we have found to ease our pain. As for the chronic fatigue I wish I could find something for this. I am now taking the P5P to see if it might help this. Just started though so it will be a while before I can tell. I was speaking to the person running the vitamin store and he says that it might indeed help. He knows it has helped people who have heart issues.
Vitamin D....be sure and ask your doctor to check your Vitamin D level which is important.
Have a good day....remember to pace, pace and pace even more.

My husband is a Type A personality. He has been called "The Energizer Bunny" because he keeps going. To hear him say, "I'm tired" breaks my heart, especially when he says it just a few hours after waking. The information says chronic stress can cause fibro. He is a pastor, the stereotypical "be there for everyone; solve all the problems" times 10.
I truly think the chronic stress has taken its toll. How can I get him to understand he needs to look further into fibromyalgia?View Thread

Here is hoping everyone had a great Mother's day. I enjoyed it. We had a cook out with hamburgers. It was an easy fix. My younger son had to work and this was not the week-end with my granddaughter. We did get to see her play ball on Saturday. She was happy to see her daddy. It is quite amazing to see how much this little girl has changed in just 2 months since the first visit our family had with her in March. She is now so very happy and loves her cousins....she is a bit rough and tough with them but I hope this gets better with time. She is the oldest and she take advantage of the situation. She always gives my older GS a big hug though. They are all so cute together but a handful. I had a nice day. The GS brought me flowers and a big cookie.
My daughter has a court date today and I am hoping and praying that all goes well with this. (this is just one of several now). I now understand so much more now than I use to about just how our system works/or not. It is so sad some of the things which can happen to people.
Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group and welcome back to those who have returned. As we say here....once a FMer, always a FMer. Being a mother is a tough job....being a good mother is even tougher. I think a lot of times mothers are taken for granted. At times they are expected to have all of the answers and solve all of the problems , no matter what it might be. I also think sometimes that no matter what we do as mothers it is never enough. Today is Mother's Day and I hope that each of you have a good day and I hope that each of you will feel loved and appreciated by those you have raised and
provided for. Remember to tell your mother or someone you consider to be a mother to you just how important she is and just how much you love her and appreciate her in your life today.
And then remember that you should do this often, not just on special occasions.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers.

We have NEVER gone on a vacation together in 45 years of marriage. We had a weekend honeymoon at friends' cottage. Now that the farm is no longer our responsibility, the pigs are all bacon, and the cows can eat new, green grass, I thought we could have some chance of seeing a little bit of this great land.
Farming is not a profession. It's a disease.
Tomorrow we'll go to Rochester and see our younger son at his group home. It will be wonderful to be together, the 4 of us, as a family. It will be about 20 degrees colder than it's been, so no lilac spring suit for me. Out with the cordoroy pants and for lilac it will have to be a winter jacket. They're talking about a rain/snow mix in the evening.
Brrrr!
Hope that tomorrow--just for a day--we can all be well-rested, pain-free, and surrounded by people we love. Monday's time enough for real life.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I was wondering if anyone else experiences this or if I could be having some other problemView Thread
OMG....what a very stressful day I had yesterday. In the morning I kept my GS and he was really good. I spoke to my DD and she wanted me to take her to turn herself in again to be served the 2 warrants and 1 summons that were taken out on her in the past 2 weeks today. My DD has done nothing. She and her DH met with a detective this week and had a interview with him. She said that she felt like the young man was quite *shocked* to hear her side of this saga. This man's boss was also in on the meeting and my DD said there were quite a few remarks were made which were interesting to hear. All of the warrants and summons but one has been *self initiated warrants* by the ex law enforcement officer, who no doubt, must be trying to *set some sort of record* with filing false reports. I have no idea. I do know that I am sick and tired to all of this mess and I have reached out to anyone and everyone who I thought might help. So far, nothing has been done. I can now understand just how *things happen and nothing is done*.... Anyway, my DD had an order which had been signed and filed from a judge that she was to be released with promise to appear for the court date set. I was quite surprised that her *visit* lasted less than an hour.....OMG....this was a record set for us. I think in the past it has taken at least 3 plus hours. They did not actually do any of the *normal processing* on her. So perhaps someone, somewhere is looking closer to just what has taken place here.
I think this made either 7 or 8 times that the lunatic has filed false charges against her. Most states do NOT even have *self initiated warrants. I have contacted the NC General Assembly (lawmakers) about this and I would hope that someone would do something about this weird law....but as with anything else, I am not holding my breath.
OK.....I think I have BIG problems until I listen to what is going on elsewhere and I have decided that I am just having some really bad days here. THIS TOO WILL PASS, sooner or later. Enough on my soap opera.
Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group....I am sure that each of you will soon find something that will help you cope better. Be sure and check under *tips* and *resources* as some good *tools* can be found there. You should remember though that what works for one person may or may not help you. Only you will know when you have found the *just right combination of tools* which has made a difference in the way you feel.

6 am, decided to stay up till 11 pm. that means I'd have been awake since Sun. night at 8pm. long long day. So when I did get to sleep, I slept until Tues. afternoon around 3 pm. I'd get up for half an hour, send BF a text, then go back to bed. One time I started typing him a text while I was still in bed, fell asleep before I'd hit the send button, 3 hours later, I woke up, and sent it. Finally got enough sleep.
Wed. BF and I had a great morning, he came over for a late breakfast, around 9 am. hung around for a bit, then decided to walk around and shop at Sam's club. Funny place for a date hmm? anyway had a great time, got to ride in BF red ford mustang, all the bells and whistles, yoo hoo!
Thurs. was grass cutting day, but I decided to hire someone to do it for me. As last week really wiped me out.
So grass cutting, picking up sticks, weed wacking, cutting some branches down, raking, etc. cost me $50.00, but it was worth it. Though I do think he could have done better at weed wacking, and raking, but I'm not complaining, as I have a big yard. Grass cutting was an awesome job..
Now I'm sitting here at work, watching the rain, sadly I have to do patrols, outside, thank goodness I have an umbrella and rain coat.
it's not so bad, it's a heavy warm rain. does a number on my curly hair!
I'm going to try and go to the gym when I get off work, but I don't know, I'm having pains in my hands, my knees are awful, and even the bottoms of my feet hurt.
Maybe I'll just go home and sleep.
catch you all later, it's 2:00 a.m. here, so sleep tight everyone!View Thread

This morning I saw where they now think a lot of back issues can be fixed by antibiotics. OMG...can you imagine this? I find this quite interesting that this has taken so long to figure out. One would have thought that medical researchers would have known to check such as this out as being a cause of back pain. I do know that the only thing that actually helps me is a heating pad. Do not quite understand just why but it is true. I have tried all sorts of things and nothing really helps it for long. Low back pain is just a very ignoring thing to deal with almost like the wrath of the dragon, aka FM.
Vitamin D....be sure and ask your doctor to check your Vitamin D level if you have not already done so. Low Vitamin D can cause additional pain for a lot of people and it can also affect other illnesses as well.

I have 2 questions today. The 1st is: Has anyone taken Effexor XL where it caused immediate insomnia? My doctor started me on this at 37.5mgs two mornings ago & I have not slept since.
The 2nd question is: I get terrible burning pain down my shins & on the tops of my feet & it feels like needles are trying to tear OUT of my skin. Its not all of the time, but often. Its not present whenever I am standing or walking-only when Im lying in bed or I have my feet up. This is not related to the Effexor as I have been experiencing these pains for some time now. Does anyone else get these pains?View Thread
P5P-OK....going to share something with everyone here. Not sure that I will get it all straight. My daughter called me yesterday and she was explaining something to me that she had heard one of the doctors telling on a tv show. This is a woman doctor who shares thing with viewers about health issues. So here goes. According to this doctor there are people who can not break down Vitamin 6...and there is now something which might be connected to this issue. For several years now I have my toes next to the big toe which is out of line/out of place. Whatever happened to cause this, I have no idea. But it is in a *higher* place than the rest of my toes. It started on the left foot and it is now also on the right foot. When it first started I made an appointment with a foot specialist who told me that it would continue until I would be forced to have surgery. I opted to not have it taken care of and it continues to slowly rise, right by itself.
Anyway, my daughter was listening to this doctor and she was indicating that this is a sign that the body might not be producing Vitamin B 6....but there is a way around this issue. A person can take P5P which is already broken down for people. And the other symptoms of this all go along with things that I too have....chronic fatigue being one of them. So I am going to check on this and speak to someone at the vitamin store about it. Carpal tunnel is also an issue which people can have from this.
I have had major issues with carpal tunnel....actually had 7 hand surgeries, but only 5 for the carpal tunnel problems. I can honestly say that only when I fell outside and broke each wrist did I finally see and feel a real difference in my hands. I think it was due to the surgeon having to put plates and pins in both wrists. Now I do not know exactly what this did to help my hand other than to fix the bones which were broken...but after recovery I could tell there was something quite different about my hands.
It was first my right hand and then several years later it was the left hand. I continued to have issues with both hand until this took place.
I am so very thankful that I hardly ever have any problems now with them but I would not wish falling for anyone and breaking any bones....as both times were extremely painful, to say the very least.
OK...enough on this...just wanted to share.
Here is hoping everyone had a good night's rest...and I hope today will be a great day for us all.

I quit taking all my meds because I was constantly nauseous I had my upper teeth worked on an took Percocet for 2 weeks. I felt better then in 5 years. Now the wall hit full force I can barely move I am miserable. I want to find more natural ways of treating this I'm sick if doctors and try this try that. I so want to be able to work, work, work but now sitting on my bed in tears trying to figure out some relief. Sorry for the rant and rave. Hope you all are doing well
