Thank you for the advice. I did work in an office before I became In home caregiver. Sitting at the computer allllll day made me so stiff and worsened my neck/head/arm pain. I have found that working fewer days and being able to get up more often or sitting when needed helps with pain and stiffness. Of course it's always there but not quite as intense.
Rest or into a warm shower as soon as I return home also helps.
You are so young to have experienced all you have.
My warmest thoughts are with you.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful advice.
I will be trying the tape to spine idea. About four months ago I started with pain and a strange pulling feeling on my spine. Up until then most of my pain was located in my neck/head, arms and lower back.
I started seeing a wonderful massage therapist weekly for the past three months which has helped tremendously. It feels like she is breaking up some type of webbing that has attached itself to my spine. So strange.
I do use all the proper tools at work, gait belt, slider sheets etc.
At this time my three clients do need require any of those tools for their care. But you never know what tomorrow may bring.
Again, thank you

Keep up the good work....I do all the things you do to help control my fibro pain. Meditation and Yoga are wonderful tools.
But I do still injest medical mj (cookie) a few times a week (really bad days) at night while in bed watching tv. Wake up feeling like a new person in the morning.
It is a monster isn't it....

If you had a license (my state gives them) you wouldn't have to worry about drug testing....
I have asthma, I never smoke my medical mj....I cook with it. At night (only) I eat a cookie while in bed watching tv and before you know it your relaxed, smiling, pain free, and sleeping soundly with no after affects in the morning.
As far as medical mj being a drug that could ruin your internal organs, not so. The Tylenol will do more damage.
And do you know how many of us baby boomers got pregnant while using mj and have very healthy children? I have five healthy sons.
Not saying you should go on a binge but really don't think you have to worry about injesting a cookie once in awhile to relieve your pain. Relaxing your muscles (which medical does nicely) relieves pain.
I have also simmered in milk and added honey. One of my sons showed me that one.
Don't get me wrong, I was a wreak when I first got my license and was given the ok to go with the medical mj treatment but I soon learned to relaxe and enjoy life thanks to my doctor and my children.

I was given tramadol for my fibro....I take once in a while, not often. Never took the vicodan or the antidepressent that was recommended.
Your first call should probably be to you PC doctor. Hopefully he or she is open minded and really wants to help you.
I have a very good relationship with my doctor but I was still very surprised at how quickly he said absolutely to my suggerstion that I try menical mj to control my pain....

I get so crazy when I see the documenatries that depict marijuana as this horrible evil drug that anyone who tries will turn into a heroin addict.
If you want to be a burn out well then be one....but not the path all who smoke or ingest medical mj take. Just as not all who have a glass of wine are alcoholics.
I support my local Medical MJ Coalition (RIPAC) both through donations and as an activist and a gifter to those who can't grow their own medical mj. One is 82 yrs old. Now why I ask you should she be in pain?
I to am almost 60 yrs old. My children were very surprised when I came home with a lic to grow and ingest to control my pain.
there are many people suffering needlessly....View Thread
