I think the trigger points should be used as a guideline rather than a definitive diagnostic criteria. The practice of medicine is based on black and white "facts", but unfortunately for us and them fibro is in the gray area.
I can't diagnose you but I will say that fibro manifests itself as pain and stiffness in most or all muscular tissues, not just specific areas of the body. Some areas might hurt more than others but I'll tell you that with me it hurts everywhere.
A good rheumatologist can diagnose you or rule out fibro,
I posted a question regarding what meds are good at givng stages 3 & 4 sleep. I posted that question to a psychiatric doc on the WebMD forum for Bipolar Disorder. I know that you are not bipolar but both disorders have sleep problems in common. He listed quite a few medications. It's worth checking out.
IBS (irritalble bowel syndrome) often goes along with fibro. If I take an Aleve I have to wash it down with pepto or I get horrible cramps. You should get it checked out esp. since you are losing weight.
