Good Tuesday one and all. I hope your today is going well and that fibro issues and pain are not a part of it.
It's going to be in 60's and 70's most of the week with sunshine. The nights aren't going down quite as low as in MiMi's neck of the woods.. we'll be in the 40's most nights.
DH and I just hung around the house yesterday. Didn't have any errands to run so he watched football and I caught up on phone calls. I was a no show at the dr's appointment. The car DH left me had a low tire so I didn't want to chance getting a flat so I stayed home. I called and will make another appointment. I have my lung dr appointment tomorrow early and I can't miss that one.
The heating and AC men are here putting in the new heating and cooling units. One is out side the other unit is in the garage. DH is going to put up white aluminum fencing around the one out side.
Semily, I always try to focus on the good things in my life. I have so much to be grateful for. I hope you continue to focus of those things. Fibro wants you to be depressed. Small things will seem overwhelming if you let them. Keep good thoughts.
Lisa, are you taking statins? What you describe sound exactly like what statins do to me.
Hello to Cory, cece, Lou, Nancy, Mel and Mary.
Nothing much to post about so will close this here with my best wishes for each of you. Gentle hugs, Linda RView Thread
Good Monday a.m. to all.I hope everyone's weekend went well and that each of you had little to no fibro issues or pain.
It's overcast here, again. We had 2 really nice sunny days this past weekend and to wake up today to the same old dreariness is depressing. The temps are dropping again, 68 as our high. We won't see 70 until Friday but it's going to be sunny for the whole week. I can't complain about that.
The trees here are thinning out and their leaves are yellow from all the rain and it's going to get cold enough to turn their colors to Fall ones any time soon as the evening temps are gong to be in the mid 40's. I haven't even brought the tropical plants up to the porch as the day time temps are okay as well as the night. They'll come in for good when we start having temps in the 30's.
Our new AC/ heating units are due to be put in tomorrow. They had said today but not looking like that's going to happen now. I will be happy to have each of the units working again. They tell me I will earn back every dime of the cost of the units by 4 years. I hope so.
DH and I had the 2 youngest GC here Saturday and Sunday morning. My GD is just so cute. The day she was born I looked at her and called her Tink for Tinkerbell. That was 8 years ago now and she is so tiny for her age, and so cute, but she can get into mischief like Tinkerbell. Her mother is always saying that I ' jinxed ' her by giving her that name. I'm the only one who calls her that.
Have a 2 O'clock appointment with my PCP to talk about how well, or not, the medication he gave me, Zitia worked. After 6 weeks I feel terrible. I stopped it 2 days ago and am feeling somewhat better but OMG I started to notice that my legs felt heavy, I was sluggish and well a lot of other things that I looked up as side effects of it, so he'll have to rethink this medication for me. This is the second time he's given me a script that I ended up sick from. Zertix gave me dry eyes so bad I went to 2 doctors trying to figure out what was going on. Finally stopped the Zertix and 3 days later my eyes felt fine again.
Okay nothing much to text about.. and I have to get moving so I don't miss my appointment.
Wishing each of you a wonderful day.. Gentle hugs, Linda RView Thread
TGIF to everyone. It's been a long week here so am so glad the Friday is here to end it!
I hope this finds each of you in a good place. .
We finally have sunshine here and it's a great way to end this week. I was beginning to think we'd never get a sunny day again. We've had clouds pretty much everyday the past 2 weeks and rain totals 8 to 9 inches since Oct 1st. And we got most of that this week. UGH. I'll be happy to make this week a memory.
Since the weather has been terrible most days DH and I have stayed home. We did go out yesterday though to get the Saturn ION refitted with a corrective part from a manufacture recall. This will be my 2nd part on a manufacture recall. I'm not holding my breath that I'll never have to take it in again for a replacement part. UGH
DH and I'll have the 2 youngest GC here tomorrow evening and plan to take them to the movies, out to eat afterwards and the home here to make cookies and have Halloween ice cream cake to top off the night. Then in the a.m. we'll eat at IHOP and then home to their mom and dad none the worse for wear. We won't be seeing them for Halloween so are making tomorrow night special for them.
The weather here has given me an achy body and hurtful joints. UGH. With the sunshine now I am hoping to feel somewhat better. Speaking of VitD3. MiMi, could Semily have meant 42? And yes 42 is on the low end of normal. I just had mine taken and I'm steady at 64. Whew.
Okay, not much to post about so will close this with my best wishes for a good day for everyone. Gentle hugs, Linda RView Thread
Good middle of the week everybody. I hope my post finds everyone in a good place and that today you will not have to deal with fibro issues or pain.
It's overcast, gray and raining, again. I am so tired of overcast days and rain. It's been weeks now of this kind of weather and it's getting really old. We got 6 inches plus of rain the past few days. Our trees's leaves are turning yellow from to much water. There goes the colors I love this time of year.
I had a nice yesterday. Had lunch with my good friend and we talked for a couple of hours afterwards. I miss seeing her each week. She is teaching Business Administration courses at a local university here and it keeps her pretty busy. She has her doctorate and is looking for job openings down in the Gulf area. I sure will miss her if she moves away but am hopeful that a good paying job opens up for her.
Nothing much to post about so will write short notes.
MiMi, glad the weather there is good. I am so sick of the weather we've been having. And as for the Ebola viruses getting a foot hold here. Yes that is a worry for sure. I am praying that our medical personal are safe from it and that we see no more cases here in the US.
Nancy, I am so glad your DH only needed the lessor of the medical procedures, same day, and that he was able to go home.
Cory, hope your yesterday was a good one with no upsets or stress for you.
cece, I hope things are getting better there. I hope your father is getting better and that you are able to find a care facility for them. My SIL seems to be doing better with the medication they are giving her and the talk of getting a live in care giver seems to be on the back burner. Well Yay That.
Lou, you all moved in yet? I think of you so often unpacking boxes and getting your kitchen back to normal.
Let me say HI to Lisa, Mel and Mary. Have a great day everyone. Gentle hugs, Linda RView Thread
Good Monday one and all. I hope your today is going well and that each of you have little to no fibro issues or pain to deal with.
Cool, damp and gloomy here today. Been like this for days now and I don't know how much more my poor old mind and body can handle. And, there's strong storms on the way for this afternoon and this evening. Hopefully by tomorrow sunshine will be here and we can dry up a bit. We've set rain total records this past weekend and I for one wish this rain would fall on states that desperately need it.
DH and I made it to church service Saturday evening and then stayed in yesterday. DH did some yard work when we had an hour or so break in the clouds and rain.
MiMi, pork chop sandwiches, um mm. I used to just love those. Can't have them now, but oh I do envy you being able to have some. Sorry your computer is still acting up. I do hope you find the reason why and get it fixed.
Semily, Happy Monday to you as well. Sensory Overload. Interesting theory. I see connections too.
Lisa, I'm the one in this house that has a hearing loss but I only have sensory issues when the sound or light is way way up or is much brighter than normal.
Hello, NancyB, Cory, cece, Mel, Mary.
Wishing each of you a great day. Gentle hugs, LindaRView Thread
Good Saturday MiMi and to all that will follow. I hope your day is starting out nicely and that you will not deal with fibro issues or pain today.
Wish I could say I have no fibro issues or pain today. A strong line of thunder storms that rolled through here last night has made my body and head hurt. And no relief in sight for me as today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday are each going to be bad weather days. OUCH with a capital O. And along with the bad weather and rain it's gotten a whole lot cooler... ugh.
Because the weather was bad yesterday I stayed in. DH said he'd like to get dinner out but more bad weather rolled in. When the weather is bad I usually stay in. But I do have to go out in for a little while to order some flowers for a friend who is not doing so well today. She has Lupus and is in a really bad flare right now. So I thought maybe some flowers might cheer her up a bit..
Usually on Saturday evenings DH and I go to church service with our oldest daughter and family, but tonight, the weather being what it is, we may only go if theirs a break in it. I had wanted to attend tonight so I could add my niece's name to the prayer list, if we don't make it, I'l call their office on Monday. She is still with us and is comfortable but it's hours now not days.
MiMI, I so understand how bad the weather was over your head over night. I don't know if it was our bad weather going east or storms that were coming up to where you are. Boy it was bad here. No damage tho or flooding but it was a light and noise show here last night. As for the Ebola virus, yeah it's pretty darn scary. I read yesterday that they have or are almost ready with a vaccine to prevent it. I don't know if I'd want to take it. Gosh so many people won't even take the flu shot so I wonder if they'd get in line to get it.
Lou, you sound over the moon happy with the new kitchen. And I am so happy for you. I hope you will allow me to see them on fb.
Cory, sorry to hear about your pets being ill. Also sorry you have another co worker out of work. I'm glad work hasn't been to demanding or stressful for you. Have a wonderful weekend.
Laura, hope your having a good day.
cece, I think of you often and hope that your having a good, stress free day. I know it's not always the case but I keeping hoping for it anyway. Young student helpers, I remember the ones I had with fondness. Honestly 2 out of 3 were clueless and the 3rd would be an airhead. How they got into the teaching program I'd dunno. LOL No updates on the hunt for a live in care giver for my SIL. Rudy doesn't want to know so he doesn't call. Guess I can't blame him with all the things he's had to deal with in the family lately.
Mel. GG, NancyB, Mary, hope each of you have a wonderful day.
Will close this here with wishes that each of has a great day. Gentle Hugs, Linda RView Thread
TGIF everyone. I hope the weather is good were you are. It's 76 and it's been raining for hours. We have rain chances all the way through til Tuesday when we'll see the sun again without clouds in the way.
We had the AC/ heating man here yesterday to give us an estimate on the new AC/ Heating units we need. Sticker shock $$$ nearly 9 thousand installed. Did I say OUCH? After looking at all the brands available for us we went with TRANE as they have a good reviews and a really good warranty. We have 2200 sq feet under roof to heat and cool so we couldn't down size the new units. We couldn't go with smaller units that would have been less money or buy units that were from companies that were not well known. We both felt to do so would be to revisit the same problems we had with the fridge and dishwasher we just replaced after only a few years. Both were money pitts.
And just as the AC/ Heating man left DD and family stopped by, they rarely do, and we went out for lunch.
Since it's raining today, and it's really raining, I guess I'm going to be home bound. I don't like to drive in the rain and since it's so wet out there I think I'll just stay put. Didn't have a lot to do, errands to run, that I need to go out anyways.
And since I don't have a lot to post about. I will close this here with well wishes for everyone. May your day be sunny, warm, fibro issue and pain free. Gentle hugs, LindaRView Thread
Good middle of the week everybody. I do hope this day has started out nicely for you and that you are fibro issue and pain free. Nothing much in my neck of the woods to post about.
It's a lovely day here in middle TN after a very long night of strong storms and storm alerts. And my goodness those storms were a both sound and light shows. I don't think anyone here got much sleep, I sure didn't. Nor did anyone here get to look at the Blood Moon eclipse at 5 we still had cloud cover.
DH gets home early today and he and I have to get in the marketing, senior's discount Wednesday, done so we get back home in time to dress for the UAW Retirees Fall Dinner and Dance. We always go the Retiree functions as these dinner dances are a catered affair and always done so nicely. The cost of the tickets is 5 dollars and the dinner is usually gets four stars. The local puts together a Fall Dinner/Dance, Christmas Party and New Year's Eve dance. The UAW hall holds 350 people and there are about 5,000 retirees here so the tickets sell out quickly for these dinner dances.. We already have tickets for the Christmas dinner /dance.
DH and I pretty much stayed home last night so we could watch the Dodgers game. We're sad that they lost and are out of it. DH and I just can't figure it out cause they played so well all season. I mean they were the team to beat and they just fell apart in these play off games. The Anaheim Angeles, like the Dodgers were on the top of their game and then they did the same thing in the play offs. Head scratching time.
There were no phone calls or texts from Los Angeles so I'm guessing things are alright, if dying slowly from bone to breast cancer, can be alright. We say prayers each night for her to leave us painlessly and gently.
Cory, sorry about the things you're having to deal with at work. I'm sorry it's taking a toll on you. And I am sorry about the death of you co worker. Also sad that it's going to put a new strain on you work wise. Wish it would be possible for you to push away from it all and just let the stress of those things around you go away. Supportive <<< HUGS >>>
MiMI, yes you're right there is so much going on around us and you're again as to all of us having way too much information. Getting to much news about what's going on in the world is stressful. It is to me because stress news events are carried and reported on one channel after another and you just can't get away from it and you don't get a chance to absorb it then the news moves onto another fast breaking story. So I agree too much news may not be a good thing.
Mary, glad you are feeling and doing so well. 2 thumbs up! Also glad you DH may be able to stay home and do his work from there. 2 thumbs up again.
Mel, hope your appointment goes well. I have an appointment next week with my Neurologist and I, like you , have questions about meds that may be better for me. And I hope you get referred to a good doctor and I hope you don't have to pay out of pocket.
cece, thinking of you today. As I do each day. Wishing you a slow and easy day and hope that it is a less stressful day for you. How are things moving along with your parents and a care facility?
Lou, speaking of moving along is the kitchen near done now. Can you actually use it and go into it again?
To everyone let me wish each of you a great day. Gentle hugs to all, Linda RView Thread
