He's barely coming around now, after horrid pain and nausea-he lost nearly 50 pounds in just 2 months! And now we've been told the cancer may have moved into his brain.
So, besides the 'normal' FB, CFS, I'm dealing with the stress of watching my husband in extreme pain, and as a retired RN, feeling helpless and at times almost hopeless.
I'm trying so hard to keep a 'firm upper lip', and so many have chipped in to help. Just a day or so not having to drive across town is a blessing! But I've hit bottom and wonder if we'll ever have a life together, and once he gets well, if I'LL ever be worth anything!
FYI: I've had this cruddy disease for 7 years now, but after being in bed most of this week, I'm just about to throw in the towel on any hope that it ever gets better....Thanks for reading!!View Thread

Actually, he was in the hospital for a procedure last weekend, and his brother took him, and I didn't even go down to see him. It was storming here, and I can't see well at night, so we both agreed that it wouldn't be in my best interest. I felt horrible, but in a way, it was a relief not to have to drive so far again!! Isn't that awful?? This disease takes away our lives and turns us into selfish people at times. So thankful my husband understands. And at least I was able to pick him up the next day....about the ice cream: don't even get me started!! Thanks to the Cymbalta, I've gained almost 30# in the last few years, and ice cream is my favorite drug of choice!!View Thread

Do any of you get really whacked out when the wind is blowing like crazy? My pain levels go thru the roof, and I just want to crawl under the covers and DIE! Not only that, my mind does very strange and scary things. I know the barometric pressure is to blame, but wow, it's almost worse than this ugly disease itself! It's been so windy in Arizona lately, I'm tempted to move, I just don't know where I'd go....have a great Sunday!View Thread

A pain management clinic/doc can evaluate your previous studies, check the pain you are experiencing, and decide the best course for you. Just make sure you don't settle for one who's only intention is to give you cortisone shots without checking out other alternative treatments.
I went to many people before I finally got diagnosed with FM, and it was the PM doc who took one look at me, checked all my tender points, and in doing so, made me jump off the exam table! No one else had even thought to do that.
I wish you luck. Please let us know how things go for you.View Thread
