Thank you,

I am glad that any info I passed on may have helped you or any one else. I wanted to ask you what creme do you have made for your neuropathic pain in your feet? I use the Voltarin because I have severe burning, tingling, tightness, etc. in my left ankle and foot (plus sometimes I use it on the right ankle & foot also). In addition to Fibro I have suffered from Chronic Back Pain for 20 years that goes down both legs and I have found that the Voltarin helps at night along with my meds.
Take care,

I wanted to let you know that after reading your email I was very excited as I stated in an earlier reply but I also went ahead and called my Pharmicist who has been a Pharmicist in El Paso, Texas for over 40 years and I have been going to him for over 20 years. He stated again that the Voltarin Manufacturer was going out of business and that was why they could not meet demand. The only reason I state this is I know there are alot of folks who purchase Voltarin. I in fact found out about voltarin by coming to this area of the web and I am truly grateful for the knowledge.
May your days be pain free,

Thank you for replying to Caprice's and my replies! Like I was saying I had to spend 58.00 to have my pharmicist compound the Voltarin for me and it was a BIG hassle to have my Dr. write out the script but thank God he did. Actually I have found the strength on the one my Pharmicist has made for me is much better and stronger and I have gotten a better relief from it PLUS I get to BIG bottles rather than 2 tubes. My concern is that I was only paying 19.87 for the 2 tubes but now that my pharmicist has to make the compound of Voltarin it it 58.00 BUT it has lasted me ALOT longer and I am like you I do use ALOT!!! I heard about Voltarin here in this area and then I told my doc about it and at first he was not that keen on it but I really pushed him on it that I wanted it AND thank God I did! It hhelps my fibro, neuro pain in my left leg, ankle & foot and I don't know what I'd do without it every nite! Maybe you can ask your Pharmicist if he or she can make a Voltarin Compound for you until the Voltarin company can get their stuff together!
Hugs,
Lisa in TXView Thread

I want to say "Thank You" so much for sharing this with me! I went thru all the trouble of having my doctor change my scrip so my pharmicist can make the Voltarin but if the Voltarin Company is back to making the product I am sooooooo HAPPY and that will make my wallet happy also! I will let my Dr. know the next time I go to him. Again thanx for the update!
Sincerely,
Lisa a Fibro & Chronic Pain Sufferer in TX.View Thread

Right now I am MAD because I am in a UNIQUE situation where I have 3 insurances Workers comp, Blue Cross/Blue Sheild & Medicare and I am still in a catch-22 when it comes to what I want to do with the next step of my medical treatment. See I NOT only have Fibro BUT I ALSO have Chronic low back pain which NOW needs back surgery due to the fact my foot is dropping & I am falling!!!! I want to do Laser surgery on my back but of course Workers Comp considers that Voodo Medicine and would rather me start down the road of spinal fusions, rods & screws.
I know I am one of the blessed ones that is over insured but in this case I am NOT able to do anything with my insurances in this case. I have fought Workers Comp for 20 years & I am NOW too sick, too tired and I don't have the fight I once had to go thru it again.
In addition, my Internist who treats my Fibro just switched my med that I had been on since 2004 (Cymbalta) to Savella. My Pain Doctor had been giving me the Cymbalta for neuropathic pain in legs but now my Internist felt the Savella would help my Fibro more. The switch has been hard because he has increased my back pain 100% but decreased the fibro pain.
It is so hard to get your hard working husband or 70 year old mother to listen to you. Especially due to the fact my Mom is dealing with the fact my Dad was DX with Prostrate Cancer 9 months ago. In addition, my husband is the sole bread winner of our household and he just started a new job so I don't want to burden him day in & day out with my pain problems. So I am left with the same 4 walls and the only tiem I go out is every 3 months when I go to tmy Pain doctor in Lubbock, Texas. I guarantee this would/will make anybody go crazy/sad/mad/angry....
Thank you for listening...I just needed to know there was someone out there...

The day I wrote this I was so frustrated and down I just could not see straight anymore but to know that there are others out there who know exactly what I am talking about eases my heart & mind sooooo much!!!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for listening
)))))Yes, I do take meds: I take Oxycontin, Oxyir, Lyrica, Savella, Baclofen, Zanaflez, Topamax & Lipator.
My husband has always had it written into his work contracts that he takes me to my Pain Clinic in Lubbock, Tx. every 3 months and we have done that for close 13 years now. I have a wonderful doctor. His name is Dr. Miles Day and he is kind, compassionate & caring but were we run into problems is with Workers Comp. Dr. Day has helped me fight them all the way but I just know one day he will say Lisa it is too much and that is the day I fear!
I also have a great Internist here in El Paso (that treats my Fibro) that keeps my Pain doctor in Lubbock in the loop of things so together they both have tried all they can with all my insurances! As I stated I am truly blessed and I too was once a college graduate so I am highly educated and even though my body is shot I try each & every day to use my mind but it gets so hard with Fibro Fog & the Chronic Pain.
Much Love & Hugs to all

I have been going to a Pain Institute in Lubbock, texas for 13 years. In 2004 my Pain doctor prescribed Cymbalta for my neuropathic nerve pain in my legs and it helped alot. Unfortunately just this last month (July-2011) my local Internist who treats my Fibromyalgia had to take me off Cymbalta (because it has run it's course) and we are NOW trying Savella.
To be honest ALL drugs have side effects but to sit in PAIN is just absolutely riducilous!!! Imagine if we all were sitting here complaining that there were NO drugs to take---the FACT is that there are/is and you just have to work with your doctor to find the right ones.View Thread
